Railroader attempts to close the gap between being a train simulator where you drive a train from point A to point B along interesting vistas but not much else and a logistical game where you produce and transport goods from various industries to make money to buy upgrades to expand your network etc. It does this well, giving you a real sense of progression as you ferry lumber and metal around the map while making each trip feel substantial and frankly, like a ton of work (but in a fun way)

It's fun to coordinate with your friends to marry together long trains where every wagon has a distinct destination and then spending the next few hours running these trains where ever they need to go. Sitting a few minutes on a passing siding with your passenger run waiting for your friend with a big haul of coal to pass is a fairly unique experience to this game and one I can really recommend

Originally I did not recommend this game but I'm changing this to cautiously recommend it.

The game is Early Access and you feel it, but I can't deny that I've been having fun playing it with my friends. So I think it's fair to say that I enjoyed my time with it.

only recommended if you enjoy reading wikis and guides. the game is hard, has no tutorial or on-boarding to speak of and is often tedious. it's also deeply rewarding to build a functioning habitat under extremely hostile conditions

Cliff Empire puts a really interesting spin on the city builder type of game.
You have to manage three independant cities essentially, each with their own budget and natural resources. You can't just dump all your production on one spire and then trade things away, as this would bankrupt the other two cities. Instead you are tasked to find a careful balance of a multitude of goods, but also energy, population, tourism, you name it. It's a bit finnicky at times and if you're not aware of what interactions are happening, your cities might fall into a pit they can't crawl back out of.

If you enjoy resource management, a very neat sci-fi aesthetic and the idea of a more realistic approach to how money is managed in city builders, then I can recommend this!

Youtube/Twitch game. It's more akin to a big puzzle to find 100 endings, but each ending is more a joke than an actual ending, something to yell "wtf just happened??" into your mic to incite your twitch chat. Give it a hard pass unless you're looking to entertain a crowd for like, half an hour.
