A proper sequel.

Warning, as you will find these kinds of people reviewing the game:
- tryhards crying that the game is too slow
- casuals crying that the game is too hard

Ignore them.
The game is pretty easy. There is more challenge than in a mobile game and less than in any souls-like.
Don't start with SSF and/or HC on unless you know exactly what you are doing.
Use WSAD controls. The game is buitl around that and you will have an easier time fighting bosses.

It is easy to learn, you can play with any build you want.

If you are a PoE1 veteran, you'll have to adjust to not being able to stand in one spot and delete everything.
If you love D4, or any other exile-like then play this. You will have much more satisfaction from just the campaign (3 acts of of yet) than the other games.

This game is the best release on PC in 2019 without actually being released.
The strongest nominee for the Game of The Year award, by far!

I cannot recommend this game at all.
I have not been playing it for long, but it's just terrible. For many reasons.
Oh, yes there is this and that, but I am not willing to elaborate on what does not matter.

Given the circumstances of the likeliness and the verisimilitude of opinions clashing, I will not state my reasons for not recommending the game and therefore refuse to take in any form of criticism, as it is rendered null and void due to my disinterest in conflict that bears no fruit.

If, for any reasons you may have, will you demand an honest and objective review, I shall not oblige, for it is most unlikely to not be biased in any way when considering an experience that is unique to each player individually.

Sincerely and Truthfully Yours,

Let me preface this review by sharing with you what this game has done for me.
Skip this, if you want the actual review.

MUH FEELINGS:

I've received a copy of this game from my brother, as I was rather excited by the gameplay and he was kind enough to notice it and went out of his way to gift it to me.

I started playing this game and finished it on the highest difficulty, but I rushed it, since I want to leave all the good stuff for multiplayer.

Now, this is the only game that hooked me up for 24h straight in four years. Four years.

I've enjoyed every aspect of the game, at least to an extent, each mission left me wanting more, the lore tidbits were a good reading. Do I have to mention the gameplay? No, I don't think so.

Thanks to this refreshing experience I was able to regain the joy that once came with playing games, as before that I thought I was getting to old to play games anymore.
Thankfully, it wasn't the case.

Now I know that because of my very refined and particularly specific taste I cannot enjoy every game I play (although I very strongly believed I could). This realisation has put me into a rather introspective mood, which furthers my self-improvement - that was my goal, long forgotten. Rediscovery at its finest.

I want to thank my brother, again, for buying this game for me, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get this far (heh, me bruder es gud ♥♥♥ o/).

THE REVIEW:

The developers put a lot of care into this game, as it is able to combine different aspects - from gameplay to storytelling to graphic and map design - in a way it is enjoyable for people of various gaming backgrounds, be it roleplayers, arcade nuts, or simply shooter lovers.

The Gameplay -

PROS:
+ Smooth combat

+ More unique weapons than in Borderlands 2 (I am comparing the arcade nature of these games here)

+ A variety of builds to choose from (melee, chi, ranged - the three main categories)

+ Fair death penalty at all difficulties (although No Pain No Gain isn't punishing enough)

+ Slightly complex, yet comprehensible attribute system (stat changing effects, elements, resistances, enemy types)

+ Every weapon is useful throughout the whole game (play with whatever turns you on the most while killing)

+ Multiplayer difficulty settings ranging from 2 player to 4 player even when you DUO

CONS:
- Meh gem system - you'll find a lot of the same gems with slight variation, finding the 'perfect one' is annoyingly frustrating. Yes.
Some amulets are worse than others and you can equip only one - possible 'balance' issue?

- Weapon specific upgrades, some that cannot be taken off (personal grudge, they create unnecessary clutter in your inventory)

- Not enough melee weapons and special attacks - there are a lot of ranged weapons, which make melee weapons look like sidearms only (in my experience they also had inferior damage)

- Enemies have copy-pasted abilities (#NotAll), resulting in less challenging gameplay

- I'M FREE FALLING (I am handicapped and kept falling over the edge)

- Miss Rate - it seems like a very unnecessary detrimental stat, though it can kick your ass when you least expect it

Overall one kitten out of three in the oven for dinner. No need to be needlessy cruel, right?

I think that is about it. I'll edit this section and add more stuff when I get to play multiplayer for longer.

------------------------------------------------------------------

The Story -

Oh, my.

Personally I believe that everyone experiences the game differently in this aspect. I am one of those who get easily hooked up even on the worst of plots.
Therefore my rating is completely subjective and very, very short:

WHAT A TWIST!

That ist alles.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Graphical and World Design -

I am putting these together because I am lazy.

PROS:
+ gud graphecs 66/6

+ Everything is easy to notice, there aren't many obstructions blocking your view

+ Maps are generated, but they create easy environment to maneuver in

+ Every character has a unique design with variations

+ Really good mocap

CONS:

- Crappy melee animations

- Repetitive map sections

- Something about their mouths isn't right

- I like number four so I put in random fourth con

Overall notgivingadamn out of whyamidoingthis.

Graphics don't matter to me in general, therefore, I am not nitpicking, or giving it too much credit (might change something about map design in the future, though).

------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds & Voice Acting -

Top Notch.

I am deaf.

=================================

OVERALL SCORE (I feel like I forgot about something):

9/11

I am too edgy.

MY PERSONAL ENJOYMENT:
<<<+| 4/4 |+>>>
THE PERFECT SCORE

To be honest, I didn't expect a game I got so randomly to be the only one I can truly enjoy to its core.

This concludes my review. I am aware that it isn't the most reliable one, but who cares, since I am not the one to tell you what you like and want to play, am I?

I can only recommend the game and I wholeheartedly do.

Pick it up, play it, enjoy it, then come back and thank me, you peasant.

I might come back and edit this wannabe review, no promises, though.

Watched directly through Youtube.

Amazing how one person can create such a masterpiece. I am aware that there were more people involved in this, but if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have this movie at all.

This movie has everything you'd see in the 80's and a little more, as it is kind of a mock-video.
Definitely worth watching, don't want to spoil it, but DINOSAURS!

P.S. If you are a fan of the 'Axe Cop' comic series, you will love this.

Ye, I tested it once again and it's improved a lot. I won't mention what is the big plus of all that, because it is self explanatory and if you don't know, play the game! It sure is worthy, for now.
Hope they don't destroy it.

Old:
Played the Closed Beta, don't believe the trailers, the game itself isn't as great as they show it, though it is worth to play, especially with friends and alike. Maps are boring tho', enemy AI is this game's weak point.
