Definitely my favorite "escape room" style video game so far. The puzzles are clever without ever feeling cheap and there are a ton of accessibility features that cut down on frustration. Being able to toggle between first and third person was a godsend for motion sickness too. Gonna do the harder maps next!

Team Rhys's Birthday had a complete blast tonight taking turns voicing characters and having a killer roadtrip. ♥ Such a fun game, and different enough from the two previous ones that it feels much more like a fresh experience than Monster Camp did. Have loved this format ever since I discovered the Yawhg, and I'm so delighted to see that the IP is innovating and expanding!

As a note, SUPER appreciate the options for content warnings. They weren't necessary for my group so I'm not sure exactly what the implementation *looks* like, but the fact that they're an option at all was just so lovely to see.

I agree with a previous reviewer -

From the ashes of depravity rises the phoenix of quality. How else to describe The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe?

Such a revolutionary step forward in the lineage of one of the most beloved video game properties of all time! The additions and changes made to this expansion will surely resonate in the annals of the history of all media ever made.

It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are ever forever etched in stone, for the stone into which The Stanley Parable was carved has itself been transmuted, offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgement. You are not beyond redemption. You may change, and you may become more, so much more than you were before.

If there is any message to be taken from the Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, it is this:

What a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have had such an experience. It leaves me hopeful that as a community – as a world, there is time for us to become our greatest selves, as great as we ever could dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

This game has spent over half a year in early access with very little to show for it. Despite promises of "doing early access right" and frequent updates, since April the devs have only added two new perks and two new maps. The CEO argues this, touting that the game has added "20 perk skills, 13 new weapons, two new maps, Nvidia PhysX Flex technology, and a slew of new features," but all of this is misleading. The new characters they brag about adding are just reskins. Community updates are sparse because the team doesn't seem to keep track of them. Bug fixes and gameplay balance rarely seem to be influenced by community desire or need.

When the new classes came out, players actually had to OPT IN to a BETA... of this early access game, to play content that gaming journalists had been given for free almost a week prior.

To add insult to injury, the game has just implemented Steam microtransactions for cosmetics in game. While I appreciate the fact that it's not a "pay to win" model, it still gives off an incredibly negative impression that making grabs for cash is what the team behind KF2 cares about first and foremost.

Pick it up, but wait until it's done. The devs are not treating this like Early Access, but instead act like it KF2 is a finished game and they're just working on DLC instead of completing the game itself.

3/5. Recommended IF you're a fan of the original Sonic Adventure 2, because this is literally just it, down to the annoying bugs and weird glitches. Great for a trip down nostalgia lane. Also note that despite being "Sonic Adventure 2: Battle," most of the actual versus maps from the Gamecube port of the game require the purchase of additional DLC.
