I saw the in real life version of the game in stores and the art really pulled me in and made me want it. Unfortunately, when I looked at the back of the box, the game itself looked like it might be a bit too complex.

Luckily, I happened on accident to find this digital version here on Steam and decided to give it ago.

I've only done the tutorials and one non tutorial match and was pleasantly surprised at how easy the game is to learn and how fun it is. I've enjoyed it so much that within only about an hour of play, I've ordered the in real life version and can't wait to introduce the game to friends and family.

I would absolutely recommend the game to anyone, be it digital or physical.

This game is fantastic.

My boyfriend and I played through the first 32 stages and had an absolute blast with it. We were also very impressed with the love, care and attention to detail the game exudes as we played. We also loved how original the game and its game play were. Nothing about it felt cookie cutter/samey from what we've really seen before and we play games all the time.

There are four different types of stages that constantly repeat, each time with new layouts and added/new gimmicks. Take the second type of stage for example.

In these stages, you have to put together notes by picking up different words that have been cut out of a magazine or something and stick them to a piece of paper. Sometimes words will be whole but other times you take multiple separate parts of words and combine them as a word you're looking for. The next time, some words could only be made by taking certain whole words, cutting them in two pieces then using them in your combinations. And the the time after that, you had to shine the words with UV lights to make the words appear.

All in all, I definitely cannot recommend this game enough, at least for co-op.

This game is great!

I'm normally too cowardly for anything like this and startle much too easily to enjoy them (jump scares don't make fun entertainment for me) and even I'm having an absolute blast with the game. I've found it enjoyable enough that I've even started playing the game on my own for a few rounds each night.

The game is especially great with friends though. I've been playing almost every night with (just) my brother-in-law and some nights my partner and a friend join us. Though we work together best we can, sometimes it gets really chaotic, but in a fun way.

The only things that bug me about it are, things like the ghosts that wander too much and the ones that don't behave like their types of ghosts usually do... examples: I spent an hour once searching for a ghost on my own who turned out to be in a bedroom I had already checked, and not the hallway, despite all my various equipment clearly 'proving' it was a hallway ghost.

...and this evening while playing solo on Professional difficulty, a Demon who are known for being more aggressive and attacking more often, refused to hunt me for a good several minutes, despite my sanity (and average sanity) being really low no matter how much I provoked it and used its name.

All in all, I'd give it probably an 8 or 9/10
