Quite simply, one of the greatest games of all time.

Overview

RPG/action-adventure with focus on branching story and action
Engaging,interesting and well-written story and characters
Beautiful graphics and art style that still holds up today.
The music and sound effects really put you in the mood of this world, filled with danger and mysteries.
Immersive world building truly makes you feel like it is a living, breathing place that actually exists(-ed)
Easy-to-pick-up combat system that has an adequate room for skill growth.
Good progression, equipment and consumable systems enable buildcrafting and multiple playstyles
GOTY edition is an incredible value for money (especially during sales) if you enjoy these types of games

Notes

Recommend playing on the highest difficulty
Experience is even more amazing if you have played previous games and/or read the books
Combat can get repetitive if you want to complete 100% of the content. Switching build and playstyle can remedy that
Both expansions are more than worth it. HoS can be played during the main story, B&W should really be done after the main story
