To beat the horse once more: Path of Exile is what Diablo 3 should have been. PoE is the true successor to Diablo 2.

In my opinion, the most important aspect of PoE is that it proves you can have high(and I mean high) amounts of complexity in an RPG and it can be good. More and more RPG's nowadays that owe their popularity to a previous installment(s) are losing aspects that make them RPG's with each new installment. Skyrim was enjoyable but I'm honestly scared for Elders Scrolls 6. PoE does not sacrifice the cores of RPG's and allows you to really create a character. Yes lots of people mimic or blindly follow other players builds but the fact that any random player can create their own from scratch end game viable character is what truely sets PoE above any other role playing game in todays modern age.
