I personally had a very good experience with this game so far. I joined casually and on a whim simply because it was a Digimon MMO, and I thought it would be interesting to give it a shot. Not only did I get attached to my Partners, but I was introduced to the ability to get nearly any Digimon that I loved from my childhood. Suddenly, I got to be my own DigiDestined and go on my own adventure through the Digital World.

While the game does get very grindy, especially later on, I can overlook that through interaction with other players and my own Guild. Nothing feels dull or too repetative (although some of the quests that require you to kill multiples of the same enemy can begin to wear down on you), and there's a slew of items to help you in battle. The translation is laughable, but I didn't find it getting in the way of any quests. On the downside though, the game does /heavily/ rely on the cash shop, and it's almost necessary to buy a new egg with real-world money. The hatching process is sheer luck and feels out of the player's favor more often than not. Again though, I am a casual player simply enjoying the game for the fact that it's letting me live one of the greatest fantasies of my childhood, and rather well at that.

The assortment of available partners can feel staggering at first. There's a pretty lengthy list of Mercenary Digimon you can have with you, and chances are, everyone has a favorite Digimon in here somewhere. Even if you're a fan of the lesser-liked Frontier (hey, I feel you there), you'll find all the main Digimon there and accounted for. Mounted on top of the actual partners themselves are the actual in-game locations.
Digimon Masters Online takes place in Season 5/Data Squad/Savers, so the starting area and main hub will look very familiar if you've seen those. However, that's not the only field based on the show-- there's places from Adventure, 02, Frontier; almost every anime incarnation is present here somehow. It's a joy to be able to level your Digimon to discover new places to go.

This game has been a very, very overwhelmingly positive experience for me. My favorite Digimon are my partners, I can visit places I never thought I could when I was young, and I can be the Tamer I've always wanted to be. If you enjoyed Digimon growing up, then I would highly recommend this game.
