Just read through your guide for no reason and I must say, it was a fun read. Good job putting all of that together for free for us dude.
Thanks for your Subnautica guide. I can explain why thermal power generators don't work in the lava zones, if you're interested. If they are based on heat pumps/Carnot circle machines/Stirling engines or Peltier elements, they would need two "rooms" with different temperatures. The bigger the temperature differential is, the better it works (Think of a fridge/freezer). In the lava zone everything is sort of equally hot, which means the differential is close to zero. If they were based on electrical generators (power plants), they would need a strong enough current to make a turbine rotate, but there is no convection current because again everything is equally hot. One would think that a spacefaring uncivilization capable of building warp gates had made progress towards upconversion harvesting.
