I'm a huge fan of D&D (DM of 17 years), I'm currently running a tabletop game of Tomb of Annihilation, and I love strategy/tactical turn-based games - I thought this game would be a slam dunk. Unfortunately I found the gameplay to simply be boring and uninspired. Apparently the gameplay is taken from a board game, though I don't find the design compelling at all even though I generally like board games.

In terms of positives, I thought the characters, graphics, and UI were nice. Unfortunately, it's held back by being slow, lacking in depth, and having some fundamental mechanics I didn't enjoy (discovering small area tiles, random 'Exploration' events each round).
