To reiterate what others have said, it's just not worth the asking price of $40.

Walking through the world can be nice, but the puzzles are so one-dimensional I felt like I was playing one of those free-to-play puzzlers available on the phone. And at least I can play those while on the toilet! I know I didn't get far into the story, but the puzzles simply weren't captivating enough to invest me in any semblence of a story it might have had.

I'd probably go for it if it gets under $10. Otherwise not worth it.

Steep learning curve but tends to be very rewarding afterwards. Expect to spend the first couple hours confused as to what makes everything tick, but it'll eventually all fall into place and be hard to stop clicking, a-la-Civilization.

If you start playing in the evening, make sure you have nothing to do the next day! I have many times seen the sun rise in the window beside my computer while playing this.
