I could gush about this game for hours, but I'll save you from that.

It's a loveletter to many things, like classic survival horror (RE and SH), psychological horror, German culture and history (with a dash of Chinese here and there), The King In Yellow (both as supernatural horror and romantic fiction).

The game is a pleasure to piece together all the lil' puzzle pieces, and the game plays well, with very few issues (doors and finishing downed enemies comes to mind), and the music, cutscenes and art direction hits all the right notes for me.

I am trying very hard to restrain myself from writing an entire essay's worth of why I recommend this game, but considering both Yuri and Barbara worked hard on this game since 2014, the least you could do is buy the game and keep it.

And for those worried about getting too spooked to play it, the horror is very psychological than "BOO"-jumpscare bait. In fact, there's no jumpscares in the game at all (there's one enemy that could vaguely be seen as jumpscare-material, but it's signalled so well, I don't consider it that).
