What is there to dislike about the game? I was playing this when it was on PC CD ROM back in the late 1990's. Everything is just how I remember it, though there are a few extra additions this time such as extra parks, rides and editor. Great little game that rekindled my love for the old classic games.

Unlike other reviews here, I love this route. The 474+ is a lovely unit to drive once you know how to use the braking controls.

Unfortunately, the route suffers from the DTG issue of speed markers being a long way off from their supposed start point and you end up speeding and losing your points in career mode, so you have to memorise where those points are.
With that being the major issue, the route is very well detailed and offers urban and semi-rural scenery.

A good scenic route with single track operation for most of its length.
The included DB EMU is nice to drive and has a few scenarios for the route.

The only drawback I find is some of the speed limit markers are not in the correct places.

I'm not much of a fan of the Pro range so I bought it to use as some online videos have used the full HUD to drive. After a few sessions of using the HUD, I decided to try the in cab controls and I was amazed by how simple it really is. After that session, I will never use the full HUD on that unit again.

Setting up the unit's exterior lights can take a while but once you're used to it, that while can be reduced down to mere seconds.

A great release from DTG and I just regret not getting it sooner.

10/10 overall score.

I bought this unit to supplement my purchase of the WCML North and regretted it. It does sound nice when accelerating but as you soon as you shut off the power, NOTHING. No sounds, just nothing. It's as if the traction motors have just died.
The horn is reused from the Class 37, nothing realistic about that.
Avoid if you can.

Not recommended because of the absence of a Virgin Trains livery and the addition of other liveries that I have never seen before.
The brakes are too weak that I find it's necessary to start braking 2 miles in advance for a reduction in speed. The tilt function is not good which is noticeable on various parts of the route and made me think I was going to derail somewhere.
The driving position is bad too. You have to look up to see out of the cab windscreen which in real life, such a unit would be failed and not allowed to proceed.
Cab sounds are Ok-ish but needs improvement.

A great locomotive to use on just about anything including failed trains and specials for scenarios. I can't really fault this DLC. 10/10

What is there to say about this route?
Not a lot really, except that is probably one of the best routes for fast and long distance running. Great for giving your trains a chance to stretch their legs and running whatever your imagination wants it too.

I found the Class 67 to be a nice experience so I got this one in the Steam sale. Although it comes with one scenario I would have paid a bit more for a few more scenarios. One scenario for me wasn't enough and felt there should have been more to play. but for the price paid and getting an extra loco and the royal train thrown in too, it's not too bad.

My overall rating of this would be 7.5/10

A wonderful diesel loco to drive with good sounds accompanying it too. If you like the diesel era of British Rail then this is one DLC you should buy.
