At first, I felt kind of strongly that this was an over-polished up front to get sales type game like a thousand others. Since I picked this up, they've made announcements or updates nearly every day. The devs made a change and actually changed it back to how the community preferred based on a Twitter poll, which is astonishingly transparent and generally dope. The game isn't perfect and still probably could be looked at as early access, but damn the devs are playing their cards right. Highly recommend now, probably more so as it continues to update.

Best gameplay since Halo 3, worst microtransactions since the word DLC was invented.

I mean yeah, you can only reliably find games in 3 or 4 modes and dead in a lot of ways, but it's the best throwback remake out there.

Excellent game, though the primary story is a bit short. Biggest negative on this is the issues with textures when you have insufficient VRAM; I have a relatively high end card and still had this issue, which is widely reported.

This can be a very, very good game. Yes, as some may point out, once you reach the "max level" of 65 within about 30-50 hours, I see their point in calling it grindy. There is an immense amount of content that will keep you feeling that way if you are not THAT into Star Trek or the stories the game presents; think every other good MMO, but there is both ground and space content. Regarding the pay to win accusations, while it is true that many things might be easier or provide instant gratification if you were to buy a ship or a few bundles, most content is available just through playing the game. If you would like to play this without spending money, I highly suggest joining a fleet (the game's guild equivalent) for community support and often a few freebies. The fleet I joined, Priority One, gave me a very valuable ship via random giveaway within a week of getting this game.

Overall, this is a great game for Trekkies who aren't freaks about graphical fidelity and know what to expect in an MMO, especially a free one. Strongly recommended until I inevitably burn out, but I'm only 88 hours in as of now.

This is the best Final Fantasy game, which kind of just makes it the best game.
