Absolutely incredible remake, meticulously dedicated to the original experience while not being afraid to modernize it where necessary. Quality of life improvements are plentiful but they are all included purposefully to avoid steamrolling the texture of the original game. It's asks as much of the player (if not more) than the original release, especially on the hardest difficulty settings. It's so refreshing to see a major release in 2023 so committed to not give in to excessive tutorialization and hand-holding, especially with mechanics this complex and deep. You have to pay close attention to everything you see and hear every step of the way to survive and progress. The game does nothing for you, and expects so much from you, and it's beautiful.

Playing this game cold with the time limit and all other difficulty settings maxed was an exhilarating experience that I don't think anything else can match. If you're a seasoned immersive sim player, I highly recommend doing your first playthrough this way -- and accept that you will likely have to restart at least once or twice. But it's still a terrific experience however you play it. Please buy and support this game, it's rare to see work this good in a remake or an original title and Nightdive deserves the success.
