You just spend the whole game waiting for something to happen but nothing ever happens. Barely counts as a narrative experience and relies too heavily on the 90's nostalgia as a substitute for content or style. It's very shallow. The marketing is, I believe, deceptive by trying to make you think there's more here than actually is. It's the Potemkin village of games.

Like all Total War games, buy it with the expectation that you'll have to mod it. It's fun if you like history, otherwise, get another TW title. Rome I felt like a better crafted game but this is still fun enough.
