What if the original X-Com had 30 years of QOL improvements?

Both of the XCOM remakes bothered me because of the incredibly bad design decision to allow entire squads to move the second they catch a glimpse of you. This meant battling the map and turn timer more than your enemies. Phoenix Point is designed properly from the ground up. Organic, dynamic engagements. Multiple enemy types with completely different attack styles. Soldier customization. Base management. This is the tactical game you've wanted.

This is a not a turn based strategy game, this is a puzzle game wearing an X-Com Halloween outfit. The difficulty is not in figuring out what tactic works in certain situations, the difficulty is in the developer hiding information from you. The stealth element of this game is essentially walk your dudes around and wait for a suspect to appear from out of no where and then reload so that you have the foresight to not take that corner. Limited saves is an interesting balancing strategy. Requiring reloads because you can't look one room over but the enemy can see you when you move is poor design.
