Let me get this out of the way - W.A.N.D. Project is a fun little game overall, and the spell crafting concept is definitely one of the most satisfying things here. Mind the "concept" word, because the system overall has some space to improve and a huge potential. Let's just hope it's not a finished product just yet it will get some updates in the future. I've seen some cheaper releases with much more content than this honestly, but I'm not too mad about that, because the game is not expensive either.
About the mechanics - seems like the meta here is really aggresive, generally the only learning curve is to figure out which wand works well with what board (girl) and then the game is fairly easy. I wouldn't say it's too much grinding if you already figured out what works best, and it might be a good and a bad thing. It's satisfying to discover this, but once you do, there is no point in experimenting with builds. I feel like the spells aren't too balanced, you either have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ build or an absolute annihilator. There is a middle ground sometimes, but why bother if you already know that this thing that you did last run will work everytime. Also, the orange modules are getting pretty boring quickly, I feel like there is too little of them fundamentally, and some skills are just copies of each other in another element.
Note for the first-timers: enable manual aim. The auto-aim might be a ♥♥♥♥ sometimes and will exclusively focus the nearest enemy, even if there are more notable risks to be dealing with (for example hordes and high-risk and tanky mobs). This one I shall direct to the devs more for the projectile Echo scaling - for god's sake, make sure that the center of the aim is not the center of the cone of projectiles that in the base are a single projectile (any orb or arrow), but fixed to at least one of the projectiles. This way, not even the auto-aim will work better, but also on manual aim the player will not be shooting the air instead of the enemies out of habit. It's upsetting.
The other thing is that I personally hate the VN elements, as they don't seem to have any impact on the gameplay - there is no affinity system or something to make it worth paying attention to. If possible, a QoL feature for disabling this in the settings would be massively appreciated.
Other than that I really like the visuals in the gameplay itself - this low-poly graphics with pixels and the spell crafting UI is very cool. The main menu is meh, and I feel like the character design itself is kind of bland. Girls look great as low-poly avatars, but the VN sprites are generic.
Just to let you know - even if I mostly critique this game in this review, I might be coming back to this title, because the potential is massive. But please, give this game some more love. It's really close to being a very nice and innovative title in the genre. And give the man who made the concept for the spell crafting a raise - it's a smart move to incorporate it into a bullet heaven game.

Crazy satisfying, addictive and moreover really pretty. Ticks most of the boxes of action rougelike with bullet hell for me - pushes all the right buttons to release some dopamine.

It's great, really curious, abstract even, but confusing sometimes. I wish there was an autist who poured hours into understanding the whole lore and made a throughout explanation - there is a lot to unwrap here. I'd say it's a game that moves more towards an art piece than an entertainment product. Would recommend to a contemporary theater fan, probably.
