Elite Dangerous is one of the best VR experiences you can have. I've played this game for dozens, maybe hundreds of hours, all of it in VR, and ever moment of it absolutely absorbing. So much so, in fact that pretty much all other space/flight games that DON'T support VR are kinda ruined for me. Being able to freely use the entire canopy in a dogfight is... well it's just the way it's meant to be!

I'm not normally a huge Open Sandbox type person, but that's definitely what's happening here. There's no personal narrative apart from what you choose to do. There's some amount of community driven content for those interested in exploring that, but I've mostly stayed solo or with friends.

Space fighting feels amazing! Exploration can be fairly engaging; there are a lot of incredible vistas to see. Tooling around on planetary surfaces is hit or miss. Most of the planets you can land on (pre-odyssey) are completely barren, but there's resources to find, and some neat sights. The planets with alien tech on em are pretty rad though! And hell, they even managed to make mining engaging!

If you like spaceships, it's worth your time. If you have a VR setup, I think it's a must try!

This really came out of nowhere. It's dead ass simple, powerfully addictive and like, seriously just grab it!

This game was an absolute delight. Short and sweet, each individual arcade bit was well executed and felt good. The pixel art and music throughout were great. Definitely recommend.

This is maybe the coolest racing game I've played. It's a physics based hovercraft racer that lets you control pretty much everything! Even the stock skimmers are a blast to pilot, and the game is breathtaking in VR.

Strong recommend for anyone interested in this sort of thing.

I've only played this in VR. As such, it is an absolute BLAST to play. The controls have been mapped perfectly to the X52 Pro HOTAS, and with the excellent sound design and visuals, I don't know that there's a better VR space dogfighting thing out there.

It is a little bit shallow, and some of the later missions are ridiculously tough to get both the objective and bonus, but it's still super fun and absolutely worth a shot!

I knew this game was one to watch from the moment I tried the demo about a year ago. Picked it up in March, even though I never buy EA titles, I really wanted to support this one.

I have not been disappointed. It was one of the best in its class back then, and has only improved, and dramatically since. If you have a VR setup, this game is a must try! At a minimum check out the demo. It's brilliantly executed, looks and feels great. Worth every cent.

Update: It's been over a year since I first backed this. The updates have been frequent and impressive with new zones, weapons, bosses and a number of ways to change up the experience. It continues to grow and improve and I still have no regrets.

Update The Next: Another year and yet more regular updates. This game is legit!

This game feels AMAZING! It's the 90's arcade beat'm up throwback I've been waiting for for ages. It's got great controls that are both simple, and deceptively deep. Each character handles differently, has different combos and even secret moves. The plot is somewhat better than it looks like it'd be, and has multiple paths with wholly different areas, bosses and story beats. If I had one gripe it's that some of the sprites are a bit... juvenile, but for me it doesn't diminish what is otherwise an excellent time.

Strong recommend!
