Game is fantastic don't get me wrong. The only reason I disliked the game is because of the SteamApi.Init Failed error. I've seen countless people have this error on their discord and it ends up with most of them giving up since there's no permanent fix. The only TEMPORARY fix that I've found to work was to delete most of the contents of the steam installation folder and reinstall it again. You can keep the folders: steamapps, userdata, and the steam.exe so you don't have to reinstall all of your games but delete everything else and then reinstall steam. (Not doing so will give a folder must be empty error when attempting to reinstall) Again, this is only a temporary fix as it can happen again and I've seen posts for this problem all the way back to 2022. I'm simply tired of having to reinstall steam every time I want to launch this game.

If that August 29, 2025 Developer Update goes through then what's the point of playing killer if you're just gonna be punished for applying pressure on an already survivor sided game. If you want to buy this game, then hopefully you have 4 other friends to play it with since every side of the community complains about each other.

Edit: Update didn't go through but still keeping it negative since they've stated that they're just reworking it instead. Judging by Myers rework, it's still gonna be ass.

Edit 2: Lmao handholding.

Can't even play the game using Steam Link or both Oculus Link (Wired) and Air Link on a Quest 2. After doing the tutorial with no problem, after I get to the main bunker, the game will just freeze. Still not fixed no matter how many times I restart, reinstall, or verify game installation files. Get Contractors Showdown instead.

Edit: Review was posted Jan 20, 2025. It is now May 4, 2025 and it still doesn't work.
Specs:
2080 Ti, i9-9900k, 64 GBs of RAM. Game installed on a Samsung 970 EVO SSD.

May 7, 2025 Edit: Got the game to work. Just left it on for about 10-15 minutes while I did something else. That's pretty stupid.
