I've been playing this game for nearly 4 years now. Sure, it's still a good game to play these days if you enjoy tactical and slow-paced gameplay but by now it's very very clear that Wargaming gives zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about the playerbase and sees them only as walking wallets to be milked. Have fun if you want but be very very cautious when opening your wallet; the company behind it will do very shady things.

How to play FTL:
1. Buy game.
2. Play.
3. Die in first sector.
4. Ragequit and watch gameplay videos of people winning.
5. Think that you can win on your next try.
6. Die again.
7. Repeat.

I previously did not recommend this game because of the DLC practices; but now I see it in a new light.

The fact that all the DLC costs upwards of £6000 is a bit of a meme among simulation fans, but it makes sense if you view it as less of an actual game and more of a digital model railway.

For TS, you can only buy the DLC packs that you want, and not all of them would be suited to your liking. It's like a much much cheaper model shop, really.

Some of the DLC is expensive, true, and not all of it is worth the price, but it pales in comparison to model shops where one singular loco often costs as much as 10 DLC locos in TS.

This is probably why TS has such a low review score on Steam, because people are looking at it in the wrong kind of way.

Fantastic DLC. The route is beautiful and the stock that comes along with it is also brilliant. The little pannier tank is a great station pilot. One thing that always bugs me is that there is no run around at Falmouth.
