Definetely a classic, one with a rich atmosphere at that. Has very big flaws, like the game not giving you enough hints to go on, the outdated graphics and the bad PC port of the game which needs you to download patches for it online, but behind that all is a memorable experience with a great story and amazing voice acting.

Such a great game, you can tell it was made with care and stuff. Definetely deserves more attention, especially if you're a PC enthusiast.

Definetely not a Gothic game, as well as a slap to the face to the hardcore fanbase of the franchise (changes past characters' personalities, completely ignores core mechanics that made up the organic world of Gothic as it was). However, if seen as a seperate game of its own, it's not that bad. The voice-acting is either horrible or very good in some rare cases and whenever it is bad it gives you the laughs. It is quite repetitive, even though its graphics can be quite enjoyable.
All-in-all it's an okay game but nowhere near as good as its predecessors.
P.S. The end-game is just pathetic..

It's the next gen Tekken. Has some unpolished parts, mainly in its story mode, he fact that you can't skip the intrudoctory parts in such a battle, for example, but in the long term that's fine.

It's rare to see games that were made with this love and attention put into them, clearly a labor of love on behalf of the developers.

Sure, it can be really frustrating at times and, sure, its design philosophy differs from that of Dark Souls 1, but don't let that, as well as all the negative comments about the game fog your viewpoint on it. It's still a very great game you'll spend hours on, just with some minor difficulties.
Also the Burnt Ivory King is still the most breathtaking boss I've fought to date.

A gem, very decent pixel-art bundled with some really great animations in a game whose atmosphere rocks! Is also really cheap, so there's no reason for you not to give it a shot.

Very good game, retaining almost all of Gothic's charming aspects, whilst adding new elements in. I'm not expecting everyone who's played it to love it, but certainly I do.
