Early Access Review
Starbound is a game that has provided countless hours of fun and adventure for me. The mods just make the game even more fun. You're asking yourself, why wouldn't you recommend this game? Well, Chucklefish has, for the most part, abandoned Starbound for other projects. If you wish to mod the game, that's good too. I've completed the game over 5 times now and it's started to go dry. The missions and tier systems are just monotonous tasks you must go through to complete the never changing boss battles and suits. The end-game is basically just a time where you can do practically anything within the reaches of the Vanilla version, if you're too lazy to put some mods in the mods folder. But, I've played this game twice through with mods, it just completely revived the stale, un-new end-game.

TL;DR: Starbound is a game that can be re-played over and over again until the monotonous tier system and missions become stale, though if you have the time (1 minute) to install a mod on the game, you could completely revive the stale bread that has become of Starbound.
