Don't buy this game if you're the sort of person who gets hyper obsessed with a game and will spend the entire weekend playing it, every weekend, and in the evenings too, until you've done all the things. I had goals for 2024, but that's over. Stardew Valley has consumed me.

This is a fantastic game as you try to keep young Moira safe on her journey through the highlands to meet her Uncle.

It's a 2D platformer with exploration and survival elements, and decisions to be made along the way. There's also a musical sequence where you have to jump in time to the music to sprint across the more open landscapes.

The art, the music, the landscape design, it's so well put together. The voiceovers and narrative really pull you in.

I love the ability to explore everywhere, to discover new routes and and secrets on every playthrough. I gather there's at least two endings, and while it's a fairly short journey, you'll likely want to play it through a few times to discover more.

I love the accessibility options they've added, too.

I will enjoy playing this again, and I will enjoy watching my friends play it, as well.

Early Access Review
I'd not played the first one so I wasn't sure what to expect, but so far this Early Access game has been as fun as the demo promised it'd be. Glorious artwork, I love the speed of the gameplay, the exploration, the ability to replay any level and find all the secrets you couldn't find on the first play through. I'm already happy to highly recommend this super fun game, and there are more levels, weapons, voice acting, etc, to be added still,

Enjoyable on the whole, with some good scares, and a couple of endings to get. But some small things annoyed me, like the kids waiting for me to walk, like I knew which direction to walk in. I'd walk off in a direction only to then be told I couldn't walk that way. I'd rather have them walk ahead to guide me, then stop if I don't keep up. That's how most games like this would work.

The biggest frustration was having to do a certain section repeatedly because there was no clear guidance on what I had to do so would constantly die. Rather than take you back to the last decision point, you had to repeatedly do the same section over and over, dragging it out.

Not my favourite Chilla's Art game, but still a good entry.

Having played Confabulation: Homestead, and enjoyed that, I was looking forward to this one.

If you are claustrophobic you'll probably want to stay away from this one, as you're buried alive in a coffin which you have to escape. It's very short, you'll finish it in less than 30 mins, but still fun. Had a number of moments that made me run cold. Took me a few goes to finish it, and the randomness of it kept me on my toes a bit.

I would love a longer game, hopefully this gets some updates, but if not, it's at least another example of how this developer can keep you scared.

A really enjoyable game! A good mixture of puzzles and jumpscares and creepiness with the sound design, and it really puts your observation skills to the test, looking for what has changed in different rooms.

There is a randomness to object placement and what locations you can access initially, which adds to the initial challenge whenever you die and start a new run, and there are several game modes you can unlock once you've completed the standard mode which adds further replayability.

I will have to check out the original Confabulation next, once I complete this one! :)

Someone told me it's inspired by Silent Hill. I've not played those games yet, so I can't compare, but I found this short but intense. It's not a "walking sim" horror, it has health and ammo management, and I struggled with the axe because there's no block/parry option, which could be a problem on the hardest difficulty, but on normal difficulty, I was able to complete it.

The sound design took my heart rate up a notch, plus some good jump scares. Also has a fun extra mode where you take on waves of enemies, but it didn't seem to drop items regularly so you quickly come up against waves you can't really beat.

On the plus side, the dev is releasing updates, so expect further improvements.

Short, but full of creepy sounds, moments of "Did I just see something?" and outright jumpscares. Recommended!

Just be aware that there seemed to be a bug where notes are unreadable when in low-quality graphics mode, because there's no way to read a plain text version of the notes like some games do by pressing the F/spacebar etc, they are rendered low-quality/blurred. The only way I could read one or two of them was to move the game back into high-quality graphics mode. More control/granularity over the graphic settings would probably be useful for some people's PCs.

Very creepy in places, very atmospheric, interesting story, some good puzzles and great jumpscares as well. Towards the end, the sci-fi aspect of it become quite prominent and I started to get Half-Life vibes.

Some gripes:

One section where after picking something up, it wasn't obvious where to put it, and I still don't know why I was able to suddenly progress.

The automatic save points can be in very annoying places at times, one section due to low heath became tedious to repeat the same monotonous task every time you reloaded before you could actually try the section again.

On that, because of the autosaves and health not resetting, if you get stuck with low health on certain sections you'll probably get frustrated but I would hope it's been tested enough to prove that with the right approach, low health shouldn't be an issue at any point. It's just a matter of trying different approaches.

The task you have to do in the final section of the game did become a bit repetitive.

Overall, a solid effort, perhaps a little bit too long and wasn't massively keen on the stealth sections, but that's just me being bad at stealth :)

Really enjoyed this. Numerous moments that either got me with a jump scare or just had me creeped out and on edge through the sound, aesthetic, and atmosphere. The storyline was intriguing, but perhaps a little short. I'd liked there to have been more to the ending, but overall an enjoyable experience and good value. I look forward to more from this developer.
