this game has the illusion of choice, the gunplay is a bit jank, netrunning is overpowered and the balancing is problematic at times.

but here i am, 2 playthroughs in, starting my 3rd, modded.

just play it, its fun lol

you want a new arkham game? stick a batman mod into this game and you have it.
you want a new daredevil game? stick a daredevil mod into this game and you have it.
you want a new john wick game (without guns)? stick a john wick mod into this game and you have it.

what i am trying to say is that sloclap somehow integrated martial arts into a game that is somehow more satisfying and badass looking than most third person games out there. BUY IT

EDIT : WE WON! WE ACTUALLY WON

1. game has become notoriously buggy and desperately needs a month dedicated to fix the numerous game breaking, mission ending, critical bugs. cinematic flair can only carry it so far. while i understand the dev team is small, and there are targets to meet, and warbonds, i think the player base will appreciate a well done 1 month with no warbonds but dedicated to fixing the game. it will help with the player bleed, so so much.

2. this game thrives on the collective player momentum. the significant and relatively conssistent player count contributes a huge amount to the immersion of the game. the meta narrative of a galactic war, the player counts, the memes, the drama, the theorising... that matters SO much to the feel. that sets it apart from the other horde shooters. it feels like the player gets to be something that's changing, a part of a narrative of an enormous scale.

sony just killed it.

now there's two ways this will go.

one, they roll back: the damage is done. players lost trust, refund requests are being sent. the player count will take a huge hit, and while the internal game mechanics will scale to accommodate, it loses that charm of the galactic planetary wars. "will this happen again?" is the questions that will deter any incoming or returning player. while a way back is possible, it will be very very surprising if it recovers to this state or near this state.

two, and the most likely, they go forwad: the damage is done. players lost trust. a very significant chunk, major countries effectively disappear from the player base. people refund, people uninstall, people try to play with vpn but get banned, people stay and play. ends pretty much the same as above, but maybe worse.

either way, the collective momentum and meta world building falls apart.

this had the potential be GOTY. a LIVE SERVICE game. it had genuine innovation, originality, and was one of the few live service games released that was *fair*.

sony took one of the best things under its umbrella, and shot it behind the barn.

i hope the stakeholder meetings go well. i hope the statistics you get from this move appeases them, and i hope the hackers who ends up the player's private information doesnt do too much damage to them.

for what its worth, i had fun. my friends had fun. we had memories, jamming to sabaton, and being in the much after a hard day's work. the accidents, the clutches, reacting to new enemies, all that. so thanks, arrowhead for a great game. you were one of the good ones.

GOOD NEWS: You dont need get cheats to cheat in this game; it does it for you!

whenever a player is nearby, my reasonably good PC heaves and wheezes to a crawl, reaching a perfect low of atleast 10 fps! Gosh, what a great little system! especially in the middle of particularly heavy gun fights where it does basically everything except run at a playable frame rate, and BSOD. Such oodles of fun!

! SPEND A LITTLE BIT MORE OF YOUR BUDGET TOWARDS OPTIMIZATION INSTEAD OF ANIME SKIN # 958 YOU PACK OF CRETINS !

progression at the start is a little tedious, but it picks up pace once you get some upgrades going. only other issue is that visibility is a little chaotic at times, enemies kinda blend into the background, and its hard to keep track of projectiles when reaching third tower and the game kinda throws everything at you. but, overall, very very enjoyable FPS roguelike, probably one of the best ive played ever.
