I just finished this game, and I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this one definitely deserves it.

I’ll break my review down into several points:

The portrayal of human thought processes: The concept of how various aspects of our personalities influence us and how all these different "voices" guide us through the story is amazing. I believe it reflects how we all function. Our Harry is unique; we can make the game as ridiculous or as serious as we want (which also applies to life). The psychological aspect of the game was brilliantly executed, and it's relatable to anyone. After a while, you feel less and less distant from Harry.

Voiceover work: Absolutely phenomenal. Every emotion, every character you can truly connect with their feelings and motivations.

Magic and Reality: One of the most surprising elements for me was how they introduced this "magical/mysterious" component. You're solving a murder, and suddenly, something inexplicable happens, leaving you eager to uncover the truth (or just thinking: "What the actual hell?!!!"). My favorite part of the game is related to this aspect (no spoilers here), and I'm thrilled they explored it and seamlessly integrated it into the story. In a hell hole like Revachol, some magical realism is all we need to find some hope(?)

Mechanics: This game isn't primarily about mechanics; they're all quite basic and won't astound you. However, the story is so compelling that you won't even think about the mechanics.

Kim Kitsuragi: Just play the damn game, and we'll be in agreement.

Politics: They play a massive role in the game— how sociology, corruption, ideologies, and crime intersect in the narrative, and the consequences thereof. I think it's brilliant how they address the absurdity and inconsistency of politics in general (and how foolish you may sound defending them) and how they dismantle the notion of everything being either good or bad, just like your behavior.

Love: Take this as a side note, but I want to share it. One of the main ideas that Harry's story left me with was about love and its potential for both destruction and construction. It may sound cliché, but experiencing Harry’s journey made me understand why we often fear love as much as we do.

I may be overlooking many points here, primarily because the game offers a vast array of possibilities that I couldn't possibly grasp in just one playthrough. Nevertheless, I want to share my honest review of the game, which has quickly become my favorite.

P.S. Special thanks to my bf for gifting me this amazing game :)

P.S. 2 If you're not into reading or hearing some politics mumbo jumbo you'll probably not love it. Is like reading a book with a lot on it so keep it in mind.

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. xoxo
