Have followed this one all through development & had hours of fun. The best sci-fi themed roguelike shmup that I have found. It can be somewhat difficult to get the hang of as your weapons generally force you to be thinking about your positioning & it has a lot more to it than just firing forward & dodging enemies.

Very fun game with a super interesting 'feel' to it that can ultimately become really satisfying. Easily worth the asking price. Pick it up for sure.

Great game. As it currently stands you'll easily get value for money from the content already available in the game. As opposed to the other way around like a lot of games seem to be built, Slormancer feels like it has been built from the ground up with the progression mechanics, loot & such nailed down before going hard on actually adding the stages for builds to be thrown at.

I think I may have got somewhat lucky in that by the time I picked up the game there were already a couple of acts of the story good to go which made me feel like I had plenty to be working through. The game does get a bit repetitive at times but seems to time the unlocking of new mechanics, skills & things to explore right around the point where it starts to feel like it getting stale. When I finished Act 1 & moved on to the prison it felt like perfect timing as the graveyard environment was just starting to feel like it had overstayed it's welcome.

One way I would describe Slormancer is one of the most content rich, unfinished games I have played &it has a huge amount of potential to knock it out of the park when it is finished even if that could be years down the line. However I'm more than content to stand by that for what is currently in the game the asking price is more than reasonable & you would really struggle not to achieve value for money here if you were to pick this up.

Difficulty of the plot missions could do with being notvhed up, if you cycle through the characters always taking your weakest one on the next mission you don't become too overlevelled but you're still unlikely to really struggle with the game at all beyond the early game as once you've got reasonable builds going it's pretty easy to just smash through. & if you do even the slightest amount of grinding such as checking out the expeditions to try to unlock some new Slormreapers you're going to find the plot a complete walk.

Circle-strafing is also too strong. Like many games in this genre it is just far too easy to run around in circles herding mobs into a killzone in the middle & once you've got a nice tight pack you just bring down the hammer. Some more enemy variety & mobs that fire projectiles based on predicting your movements so that if you just circle you're bound to run facefirst into projectiles would easily alleviate this. But I'm sure more enemy variety will be added as the game develops.

I have absolutely had a great time playing Slormancer though, plenty of content for what you pay, sometimes gamepad support flails a bit as you sometimes can't select something in the menus that you need to but have already been told this will be reworked. & the difficulty is a bit low outside of the early levels.

Otherwise, cracking game, some really interesting mechanics, some great ideas, a lot in here that feels unique & interesting. A heartfelt recommendation from me. Devs have done a great job with this & I can only see it getting better, even if it does take some time to fully cook.

Picked this game up for 69p on sale about the cost of a can of coke nowadays. Had good fun for about half an hour before life commitments got in the way. Did a couple of runs & got slaughtered, still getting to grips with the mechanics. Each run felt different enough & I was unlocking interesting new stuff as I was going along. Game is super fun though if not just a little fast paced for me, looking forward to going back to it. An absolute steal on sale.

There are a range of accessibility options via a custom modes thing so I could slow it down if I wanted to but it disables unlocks so I guess I better just get good.

Fun little toy of a game but it is hard to recommend at the asking price as it doesn't feel like much more than that. Very minimalist. Takes the very core elements of what makes up a roguelite and strips away the rest. I had a good time with the hour or so that I played but didn't feel compelled to continue as it quickly became repetitive. Hopefully I'll find time to come back to it & get another hour or two out of the game but it doesn't seem likely there is all that much of interest left to discover. Would wait for a sale.

Fantastic game for picking up here & there on the steamdeck. Driving feels great. Drifts feel heavy. Cars handle as you would expect & you can't just blast into every corner expecting it to work out. Tracks are a perfect length for dropping in & out. It's a recommendation from me from anyone that enjoys chilling out with driving games.

Found this game to be quite the hidden gem & great fun but actually kicks my a$$. In over three hours of gameplay I've only managed one win on the smallest map & haven't unlocked any of the other characters. Game is not easy.. I would not consider myself a good gamer, have always been pretty casual but.. nearly everything shoots fast, homing projectiles right from the get go.. some of my runs have lasted about two minutes. I have been thoroughly savaged. But have had a blast.

A strong horde survival game that feels very similar to Vampire Survivors. Bold to price above it. However there is a lot of content here, some gaps & 'coming soon's that are a bit disappointing but the developer seems to update the game frequently. Meta-progression seems pretty good & you do start off pretty weak in the initial runs but not to the degree that you are immediately flattened, definitely compels you to return to the game particularly to progress through the 'talent' tree to discover new buffs.

As it stands of all the survival-esque games I've cluttered my library with as the genre has taken off this is currently the one I am most keeping my eye on along with Rogue: Genesia. I've found that with a lot of these games after a handful of runs you can feel pretty 'done' & not particularly interested in returning to play further. So far this one has me wanting to keep going.

Will be interesting to see where the dev takes this one, some more weapon/upgrade variety would be nice, and it could do with differentiating itself more from VS. At times it feels a little too much like a clone.

A very fast-paced roguelike twin-stick. Refreshing to play a game with such a high pace although you can be killed quickly if you're not careful. You also better hope you have spider fingers as each shoulder & bumper button has an action assigned to it whilst you are also moving with the left stick & aiming with the right which can be quite overwhelming. Feels like there is a good focus on meta-progression as there is a lot of unlockables for your ship that you can switch to between runs with lots of different combos to try out. The number of stages are lacking but the amount of unlocks to work towards makes them worth repeating.

Hectic but fun, faster paced than usual roguelike shooter. Very fun to play but lots of buttons to be hitting at the same time to play effectively. Might be a tough recommend at full price but definitely worth picking up on sale.

A good fun roguelike shmup. Upgrade tree in terms of meta-progression feels short. Game length seems pretty reasonable, I didn't get that deep into it in my runs as the game is fairly difficult.

Would wait for a sale though, for what it is the asking price is pretty steep in a world where you are seeing these sort of games with ample content for £2-3.

A strong twin~stick survival that feels well themed. Very similar to 20 minutes til dawn but stands on its own two feet. Meta progression could be stronger, nothing really feels much like it compels you to reach for it. Plenty of content for the asking price.
