I look forward to the day I can recommend this, but it's not today. It feels like there's a great game hidden underneath some confusing UI choices, and it makes combat way too slow.
If you play it at a satisfying pace, you'll misplay often, because it doesn't show you who's attacking who without mousing over each enemy every round, and there's no colorblind options to make the highlight easier to spot quickly.
Selecting a character highlights cards they can use, but mousing over a card that's for a different character doesn't do the inverse and highlight the character, you have to look at the tiny icons instead. None of this makes the game unplayable, but it slows it down to a point where it's frustrating, especially because of the exciting potential of the gameplay.
As it is, dealing with the UI becomes the main place time is spent, rather than thinking about the strategy. This all feels like such a shame since some QoL changes would allow the focus to be on the core gameplay, which seems punishing, but would probably be quite fun if I could spend my time there.
Even if the game always showed how much damage each character will take from which enemy, added up the damage a card will actually do for you, showed enemy health after pending DoT effects, and had colorblind options, it would still require a lot of strategy, but it would be more fun.

I bought this game for a dollar, played it for an hour, and then bought it for a friend. It has simple controls (analog stick and one button), but is challenging and fun. They took the concept from the old flash game "Cube Field" and made improvements on every front. If it's on sale, definitely snag it and waste some time crashing into things.
