First of all, IQ is a human creation that has little basis in the very many, complex ways we think and is a silly quality to glorify in others.
Second, recognizing allusions to things is not a sign of "high IQ." I didn't understand wubbalubbadubdub's connection to Russian whatever and I still appreciated the characterization it offers to Rick.
The majority of Rick and Morty can be understood and enjoyed just fine without a lot of analysis. I don't see how you aren't one of the people OP was talking about, and as an avid fan of Rick and Morty, I'm kind of annoyed that you've lumped me in with your ironically undercomplicated classification of the show's following.
