Throne and Liberty: A Cash-Grab Wrapped in Fancy Graphics

Throne and Liberty is a textbook example of a game that had potential but was ultimately ruined by greedy monetization and poor game design. While it boasts smooth performance and beautiful Unreal Engine graphics, everything else about the game is a letdown.

Pay-to-Win: The Core Problem The biggest issue by far is the blatant pay-to-win system. Almost every aspect of progression—whether it’s crafting, gear upgrades, or leveling—feels like it’s designed to force players into spending real money. You want to progress? Be ready to grind for days just for basic materials, or spend cash in their over-aggressive microtransaction shop. The battle pass and leveling passes give paying players a massive advantage, leaving free-to-play players far behind, creating a deeply unfair gameplay experience.

Bot Problem: Ruining the Experience To make matters worse, the bot infestation is rampant. Players resorting to bots for farming resources isn’t just a side effect—it feels like part of the design. The game’s grind is so unbearable that it almost pushes you into using bots to remain competitive. NCSoft has done little to address this. Bots also ruining the Coop Dungeon experience.

Uninspired and Clunky Mechanics: The game itself offers little excitement in terms of mechanics. Combat is clunky, classes are generic, and there’s no real sense of adventure. Everything is a grind, whether it’s item upgrades or skill respecs, which require rare materials or even real money. The lack of variety and creativity in itemization makes the entire loot system dull. You won’t stumble upon epic loot or feel any real reward for completing tough content—everything is a spreadsheet of boring numbers.

Server Woes and Endless Maintenance: On top of all that, the server issues are unbearable. Regular 6-hour maintenance windows are frustrating enough. The inconsistent server uptime and constant delays have led to a lot of frustration within the player base, making it feel like you’re paying to sit through downtime rather than actually play the game.

PvP and Co-op: A Chaotic Mess The PvP mechanics are equally unbalanced, with higher-level players stomping lower-level ones with no repercussions. World boss fights turn into chaotic PvP brawls, where cooperation is thrown out the window, making the experience more frustrating than fun. Meanwhile, the dungeon matchmaking system is flawed due to the game’s free-form class system, often leaving groups without essential roles like healers.

Final Verdict Throne and Liberty may look great on the surface, but underneath, it’s a shallow, grind-heavy, and pay-to-win mess. Between the rampant bots, unfair monetization, clunky mechanics, and constant server issues, it’s hard to find any real enjoyment here. Unless major changes are made, this game is destined to fail—just another cash grab with no respect for players’ time or money.

Avoid it unless you love endless grinding or throwing money at your screen.

The best basebuilding/automation/industry/strategy game out there. I have tried several others games of this genre. None can hold a candle to Factorio. Outstanding game. Love the graphic, love the mechanics, I just love all of it <3

I didn't want to buy it at first and wait until it was on sale, but after the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I thought... support for the developers and support for J.K. Rowling. And I do not regret it, the game is outstanding.

♥♥♥♥ this. cs2 devs are some special kind of humans. 1 year in cs2 now and the game is still trash. sub tick is the worst. at 20k+ mmr premier gaming you will get 1-2 cheater in 5 games, report function is worthless. but hey you get a battle pass with 100 skins but no gameplay improvement. ♥♥♥♥ the devs. just some greedy humans with dollar signs in their eyes.

csgo was so smooth and crisp to play. this game is like 20 steps back. and with this devs there is no hope
