Small, fun game. It's quite unique, with manual reloading, heat management and weapon jamming. Also enemy mechanics are neat. Other than just dealing damage, you can also stun them, which can stagger and force enemies to fall over. So you can shoot them in the legs and finish them off on the ground, very John Wick style. I liked it a lot, it's cheap and I can definitely recommend it.

The main problem is that it is indeed a small game, only 4 weapons in total (although you can customise them), and you can only change your primary, so you are stuck with the default pistol as a secondary. And 3 maps that are a bit bland in terms of visuals, making it easy to get lost. It would be great if the developer added more maps and weapons or made a new game with the same ideas and expanded on them.

While the game is a little lacking in content (the campaign is short, there are too few maps for PVE and especially PVP), it's a fantastic and fun game, especially by the standards of the modern gaming market. In a way, it's an old school (~2010's) game, you get a campaign, PVP and PVE without microtransactions, loot boxes or any other slop. The core gameplay is extremely satisfying and the developers show great promise with future updates. It also scratches the itch for competent PVE horde games, and the PVP is great fun.

Don't play this game in its current state. The grind is unbearable, even if you buy a premium. This problem has been getting worse for a while, but recently the developers decided to double down and make it completely unsustainable.

The game is finally in a playable state. You could say it is out of the second beta. With the itemisation update, I can confidently say that it's now a full game worth its price. There's still a need for more content, but I can definitely recommend Darktide in its current state. It's a fantastic horde game that you can pour many hours into.

11/10 not patient enough to play it, but it is one of the most unique experiences out there.
