Solid game that does a good job making everyone fun to use, especially the melee focused heroes considering this is still a shooter.

Fair warning that right now the game tends to crash a good amount after a few matches. I know it's not a hardware issue since I have a solid rig, and it's the only game I'm having such a problem. Others have mentioned this happening too, so I imagine this is something the devs will have to fix. If you're going for a while, just restart the game after a few matches. The crashes seem to happen during matches, so it's at least a way to get around it until a fix is had.

That said, fun stuff, because I didn't think I'd mess with a hero shooter again like this, let alone a F2P one.

Reseña de acceso anticipado
As an early access title it feels pretty stable. There's a couple of bugs here and there but outside of an infinite loading one that seems to happen if you join a dungeon at the same time as the party host it's nothing that marred my enjoyment that much. One thing for certain is that while it does have single player and you won't miss out on any content doing so, they were not kidding when they say it's made with multiplayer in mind. Early on it can get rough when you're learning the game still. go into the first dungeon without a few levels on you and it can humble you real quick. While you can dodge around and parry just about anything in this, enemies tend to beeline towards you and attack relentlessly, and if you're not prepared you can easily be overwhelmed in seconds, or even get one shot. It can be mitigated somewhat once you're able to pick your class (which takes getting to level 10 and honestly can feel a bit stretched out for this) but with how later enemies are it'll still be a challenge soloing anything without plenty of prep. I chose Bandit as my first class, and even with their added mobility and strong ability to kite mobs easier they can still catch up to you quickly.

There's still not much in this game yet with only two main dungeons in the game so far, the first one having three difficulties you can challenge while the other is just the one, but you can find yourself going at it for a while if you're trying to get some of the higher end gear. It's a dungeon crawler loot game alright, and it's one of those games where being in a group can make the experience a lot more manageable. I'm gonna keep an eye on this one (if my attention doesn't wander elsewhere).

I meant my eye on the state of the game. You know who you are!

I mean, if the dev wasn't obvious about how horny he is from this game before, this free add on certainly does. Pretty much what it says on the tin; it adds some naughty stuff here and there into the game both in and out of the menus. It's nothing too crazy and it's kind of there.

The big double-edged sword is that it does disable all the cameo characters you can use (which also disables some synergies, as some require those characters to activate), and also being able to buy their crates when enabled. This includes the other ones as well, so you'll have to toggle 18+ off to buy more. The reason I say it's double-edged is pretty much the fact that less characters to go through means a higher chance you'll get some characters you want more. Even with the workers trimming down the recruit pool some in runs there's still quite a few in the game overall, but this is one way to focus it down more.

Overall, a fun lil thing you can grab. Just be sure nobody will walk in on you with this on... for obvious reasons.

It feels like one of those Vampire Survivors like games, except instead of choosing a character and getting more items to buff them into insane levels, it's choosing one then recruiting others in a run that also buff each other and still go into insane levels while also having multiple missions that change the game entirely (like a kart racing one and straight up golf). With almost 200 characters, a ton of neat cameos and the ability to even fuse some of the recruits there's quite a few options and effects to go for. Also certain the dev really wanted us to break the game with these combos, and in the best way possible... and he's not afraid to show he's down bad on the females (18+ dlc on or not). I mean it shows a lot with some of the recruits.

Game can be a bit jank at times, and with a lot of these kinds of games performance can start to tank if a lot of enemies, projectiles or gems are on the field (more so the latter). Haven't had it crash on me yet at least and this is coming from already doing some nutty runs. I do think some of the stuff could be explained, like setting workers in your directory (the roster screen in the main menu), which takes them out of possible recruits to show up on missions but do give some extra money when completing one. It's a toggle on the left side of the character when going through the list and it's the arrow that at first wasn't aware was actually a button. I could just be slow here but you do have to figure out everything on your own if you don't look outside of the game. Not much there either being such a small audience.

It's also possible to create characters called interns. The creator is alright for what it is and it's possible to put them in the Steam workshop, but only having one active at a time and not being able to be used in any synergies makes them a bit... eh.

All that leaves is the Chrono Corp mode you unlock early on. A whole different experience with a new set of characters just for this mode. Normally you can only have up to 8 recruits out at once, but this instead lets you recruit as many as you want, though instead of being stunned when they run out of health they just die. It also doesn't use the global upgrades the main game has, instead using consumable potions for various effects and artifacts that give a lot of the passive buffs Solace recruits have. All of these can be bought during a run with the level bar changing to an energy type system. Get enough energy and redeem them on units and upgrades that you can access at any time. Different approach, but can get just as wild with the options you can end up getting.

Might have rambled on about this longer than expected, but for a small $4 game that pulled out this much fun I couldn't help it. Makes me want to try Aplove's other games too (I noticed after a while quite a few of the characters are from his past games... a Smash Bros of Vampire Survivor games?). I'd say give it a shot, and even if you're unsure about putting money towards it, there's a free version of it on mobile you can try.

Most of my time was on PS4, post game of Iceborne and all so this is me running through it again because World still feels really nice to play. Just wish the story pacing didn't feel so sluggish.

Also limited character edit vouchers is still goofy for a game like this and Capcom better not pull this crap again with Wilds.

How they took the game down as long as they did and gimped so many aspects from the beta, whether it's removed features or changes that are straight up just awful, is astounding. I don't even want to get started on the monetization that reminds me of a scummy mobile game.

Can't wait to see the chaos of a development story this game has, because there's no way it wasn't going through hell just to come out in this state.

That "Be *Overwhelmingly* Positive" shirt looking extra fine these days. Glad I got back on this after so long because this is just a wonderful game stuffed full of passion and rockin' vibes.

Hope the devs at Tango are able to shine on somewhere else. Mad props to them.

I am a simple man. I see Valkyr with cat like helmet, my cat bias kicks in and proceed to wild it out as an angry cat on the most potent catnip.

I mean I was still digging this game long before this fact (have way more time on PS4 compared to Steam) but I'm certain this is relevant too.

Sometimes you just need a lil something that give those chill vibes, and this delivers while also being able to tweak said vibes to your preferences. I'm a wreck when it comes to focus so the general feel plus having those few tools that help with productivity really helps. The fact it also gives more experience daily for using them does give a bit more incentive to take advantage of them helps, and more levels means more adorable critters you can have hanging out with you (bonus points for petting option!)

Remember that even the little steps we take matter, and if you need something that can help push towards them I highly recommend this cute lil game.
