This game sure is Stalker.
Nothing I can really say that wasn't said a million times before: tons of bugs, funny moments, and the game still has its charm. One of the few titles I wanted to play after testing it. Overall I would recommend the title if you liked previous games, and if you're a fan of open world arcade FPS games set in Post-apocalypse, give it a try.
So with that all out of the way, I wanted to list stuff I didn't like:
The weapon progression in the game is really linear right now, it's not Shadow of Chernobyl where you can beat the game up to Pripyat with a rusty AK as long as you have armor piercing bullets on you. So even on normal difficulty, you better off swapping to the newer guns based on how much penetration value they have unless you like hitting one enemy 7 times in the head. I guess it was done specifically so the player would be forced to swap their weapon and play with different guns (and to guarantee that quests that give you weapons would be more rewarding I guess?). But all that does is making AR 416 a reskin of AK that uses 5.56mm ammo, not a fan of that. I would prefer getting rid of that penetration value and base weapon damage on ammo type for example, but in the end the game is still playable and there is a mod that can make your playthrough with just GP37 a reality.
Some equipment can only be found in stashes, like weapon attachments and certain armors. This is done for exploration purposes, no doubt, but I feel like making traders actually sell these for a hefty price would not hurt the game. It would be still rewarding to find SEVA rather than buy it from Scientists or whatever. As far as I know this is not GAMMA where "the Ukrainian government banned smuggling weapons and armor, now only artifacts and ammo crates can be smuggled".
The gameplay at the start was rough, I basically had to visit most anomalies in the zone just to repair my suit and weapons, so surprisingly enough the amount of ammo and medkits you find really helped you out when trying to save every coupon to repair your gear. It wasn't fun though, I glad they patched it.
