Fun collection full of neat games varying in size and scope.
There's probably at least a couple of games in it that'll stick with you.

Best multiplayer shooter I've played in a while.
Infact it's kinda what I've been wanting out of multiplayer shooters for a long time.
Quick to the point and chaotic.
Very good game.

10 years on and it's really held the test of time, it's arguably gotten better with age.
Wolfenstein the New Order is my favourite Wolfenstein game. Everything about it works so well, always a treat to replay it.
Play Wolfenstein the New Order, this is a demand.

Extremely good DLC.
Kinda wish Deathloop wasn't developed independently from it.

Kinda in awe of how bad this game is, they like actually made a game worse than Flashback 2013.
Nothing about it functions properly.
Movement feels awful, shooting feels awful, everything feels awful, the choice of camera is a baffling decision. You snag on objects and fall through things constantly.
Visually it's somehow more generic than Flashback 2013 and better yet it's full of presumably ai generated art for the character portraits that has little to no consistency at all.
Narrative is laughably bad even as far as a game narrative goes and the voice acting is even worse.
Death means nothing you can just instantly respawn where you died with full health and also deal with bugs from this.
The game constantly goes "hey remember the original Flashback" while forgetting what made the original good.

Why has everything Paul Cuisset worked on since the original Flashback been bad, how does this keep happening, I'm so confused.

Neat little physics platformer,
Makes me feel like a moron, makes me anxious, it's great.
Some of the most concentrated dopamine I've had in a while.

Early Access Review
I find this game incredibly disappointing and a case study on how to mismanage early access.
But first let's start with the good.
Viewmodel animations, audio and VFX work all feel sublime. The weapons feel hot, harsh and jarring (in a good way) which gives a similar feeling of hyper reality that the newer Modern Warfare games (in terms of overall weapon feel) have.
Now for the bad.
So many design decisions in this game feel misguided and don't work together, like the developers and testers were too insular with their process. The ai feels inconsistent and overtuned and the level design and environment art doesn't collaborate well with it either. The enemies are able to see you perfectly in the dark, through fog, through various environment props and sometimes through walls and spray you with high calibre weapons almost instantly. They only crave death and will often of your attempts to engage with the other systems.
The levels lack pacing and are way larger and denser than they need to be. The first mission in a gas station is questionable but tolerable. The second mission is a massive difficulty spike and clashes heavily with the "story" they're trying to tell and the tone they're trying to create. Also the levels are really dark and enemies are often 5 pixels on screen in a corner in the dark.
Also lets talk about the tone.
I get that a swat simulator would cover some dark subject matter but this game tries to be so edgy that it is absurd. I can only assume that the target audience is 15 year olds who just found out you can look up gore on the internet, or people who are mentally 15 year olds who just found out you can look up gore on the internet. Nothing is treated with any kind of subtlety. Their idea of complex and serious antagonists is to make every enemy a serial offender meth head highly funded paramilitary terrorist. A man holding their family hostage can't just be that, it always has to be a multilayered crime syndicate with paramilitary funding. There's just no baseline of normalcy, it'd feel more grounded if the enemies were vampire circus clowns.

Performance is pretty bad and is much worse than the early access version. at least it's not nearly 100 gigabytes anymore.

In conclusion, maybe don't try and one up Swat 4 in edge and difficulty. Also like, let the community test things, and get playtesters who haven't been playing the game for 12 years straight.

They actually did it. Frictional actually made a game with gameplay. And it's really good.
