I waited 6 years for the full release of this game. Worth it.

I pumped a few hundred hours into ARK towards the end of 2015. I loved it. But eventually when my tribe was wiped out by a bigger tribe on the server I decided to take a break, deciding there were too many bugs and optimisation issues for me to continue playing. But I vowed to return to the game when it was released fully, which had an ETA of June 2016. I was CERTAIN that by then all the bugs that had riddled the game would be fixed, and the optimisation would be well and truly done so it would run beautifully on my PC, and be a fully enjoyable experience. They were releasing new updates to the game weekly, if not more frequently.

Today I had a friend who still plays message me telling me they added a $20 DLC. They told me that the game has never been optimised properly which is why it doesn't even have recommended system specs to play it, only minimum. The same bugs that infuriated me all those months ago are still present. The game is still in Early Access, missing their deadline for a release date by a number of months. Instead of finishing the game, or making it even remotely more playable than it was nearly a year ago, they added a paid DLC. Which, I'm being told, adds a pay-to-win model to the game, because the DLC adds tamable dragons that you can't get without it.

All those months ago I vowed that I would return to the game when it was released. I had nothing but praise for Studio Wildcard and their practises. Now, I probably won't. The devs have turned out to be scumbags. Severely disappointed.
