One of my favorite FPS' since 1993 just keeps getting better and better. Doom Eternal is easily the best in the franchise to-date. I didn't think they could outdo 2016, but they did, especially with the new gameplay mechanics. The single player campaign had me grinning - it's magnificent, violent, gory terror and glory. The game's electronic/industrial/heavy metal-inspired music hits, and the game is both an entirely awesome experience and brutally challenging if you like it to be, which makes me a very happy fan.

Unfortunately, Battlemode falls a bit flat, in my opinion. It's got some balancing issues which they've been working on, but it's fun and is a cool idea. However, there's very little multiplayer content and the playerbase is very small. There is a high learning curve to playing the Slayer and winning games. Old-school Doom/FPS fans like myself have been calling for Deathmatch - hopefully it gets added with an update.

Nonetheless, if you like to play FPS this should be amongst the top on your list.

Extremely immersive - play this game in the dark with headphones on. Easily one of my most favorite and memorable indie games of the last decade. Challenging and intriguing, this game's mechanics are just awesome and you really get the sense of lonely dread and panic as the only pilot alive in the universe. If you like roguelikes and enjoy a thinking man's game, I highly recommend this one!

Amazing. Destruction and open-world possibilites make for an incredibly fun game...

...for the *maybe* 10 seconds at a time that it runs smoothly. This game is horribly, horribly optimized. I'm running an FX-8350 with an EVGA GTX 770 SC and 8GB of RAM. While I understand that the GPU is slightly less than necessary for "Recommended" graphics requirements, I shouldn't be getting so much stutter and frame drop with all settings on Medium and everything else turned off.

At its current state, while its fun when it works, it's nearly unplayable. Wait until this game is patched. I can't recommend this game until then.
