Overview
Elsword is a free-to-play, 2.5-dimensional side-scrolling action MMORPG developed by the South Korean company KOG Studios. It features real-time action gameplay and includes both player vs. environment and player vs. player modes. There are several playable characters within the game, each with unique backstories and distinct abilities. While playing the game is free, some items and costumes can be purchased through in-game "Item Mall" using real currency.

Story
Elsword does indeed have a story, like every other MMO out there, although it isn't widely known. The game focuses more on gameplay rather than story. Each character has their own backstory, along with each class they advance onto.

There are no cutscenes (although in the Korean server they are added a few), so if you're into those you'll be disappointed. Just text from completing quests, that's really all you get from the story.

Gameplay
While the game lacks in story, it excels in gameplay. Skills are flashy, especially the hyper actives (the final skill you can unlock, requires level 65 + 2nd job class).

The skill tree is split, so you have to decide whether or not to get a skill, locking the other skill next to it.Take your time and decide if you want to focus on PvP or PvE when you choose your skills.

If you're into customizing characters you'll be disappointed. The game features characters you pick rather than making your own character. Say, if you want to play as an archer and be a male, you won't be able to.

Near the end game, it starts to get dull. The game features a stamina bar (basically it limits the amount of time you can play per day), and near the end of the game it requires a lot of grinding to level up. Luckily during weekends stamina is unlimited, so there's always that to look forward to.

Art
The game looks and feels like a manga. Whenever using a special active (basically a skill that requires more mana and deals more damage) you get to see what looks to be the page of a manga- with your character posing.

The UI is alright, it's not the best but not the worst. Everything you really need to know is shown on the screen, but I feel like it should be worked on some more.

Audio
The music sounds alright from what I've heard of it, but I feel like they could've added a few more tracks. I feel like it's on repeat most of the time, so it can get annoying at times.

The voice acting sounds really well done. I really like how everyone has their own voice, even NPC's- I always enjoy hearing voices while playing MMO's. If all you want to hear is English, then you won't be happy. All of the voices are in Korean, so if you don't want to hear that, then just mute the game.

Overall
The game has a pretty bad story, they don't really show it off. The gameplay really makes the game fun and exciting, with each character playing differently. It has an amazing art style, it really feels like you're in a manga. The audio is great too- the music could use some work on it, but the voices all seem really well done.
