Equally as good as the first game, significantly harder. It has way more content than the first game while still retaining the multiple endings parts and different episodes, even has a new Shoot 'Em Up section near the end of the game, while at first glance the new rooster seems weaker than the first one, they all have their own unique mechanics. The original roster also makes their return once you beat the main game once, saddly if you played the original game, Ultimate Zangetsu (The one with Double Jump and Dash) is only unlockable upon beating the Final Chapter of the game .

The music is fantastic like in the first game, level design is what in my opinion makes it harder than the original even tho you can bypass a lot of hazards with Hachi's invulnerability sub-weapon , while i didn't find any boss particularly hard, i found them a bit more tedious since they have less windows of opportunity to hit them, the only exception being Boss 2 and 3. I also played all episodes from Legend since the very beginning so my perception might differ from someone that played on the other 2 difficulties.

The only difference between Legend and Veteran is that if your character dies, instead of switching to another remaining character you straight up just go back to the last checkpoint, you can still switch to other characters with higher health before the character you're using dies so is not that different if you already played on Veteran in the last game, you only have 1 less extra hitpoint if u wanna see it that way.
Overall a more polished game with a lot of replayability, if you liked the first one then get it for sure, if not then i wouldn't recommend it since it's essentially the same game in it's core.

This is a must buy title for every Castlevania fan out there, specially at the price that it is, $10 is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steal for all the content that this game has for being an 8-bit platformer. The gameplay, music, enviroment, characters, everything feels right about this game, controller feels amazing and the inputs are really smooth, if i were to compare it with a Castlevania i would say that it most likely feels like Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse in almost every aspect except difficulty that i will state below, but that's just my opinion.

If you're a hardcore Castlevania fan this game may not be as difficult as you would expect at the beginning imo, but as you unlock the gamemodes the game will increase it's difficulty and for me the difficulty really spiked when i tried to get specific endings so if you want a challenge, you are going to have it for sure, just not in your first playthrought most likely.

This game has 2 styles being the veteran one your classic castlevania that allow the enemies to knockback you right into the pits like the good old days and the casual mode that doesn't have the knockback and has unlimited lives, asides from that it is the same game so don't be afraid that you will miss anything if you play on casual but imo is better on veteran.

The game also has 4 gamemodes
- The Normal mode
- The Nightmare mode that makes you play only with the other 3 characters, Miriam, Albert and Gebel, plus the bosses have more life and some addionts to their normal attack patterns, also you have a different final boss
- The Ultimate mode that you unlock after you complete the normal mode killing every single character instead of recruiting them or ignoring them, this mode it's like Nigthmare in terms on difficulty but it is normal normal in essence, the only difference is that Zangetsu has all the powers that he gets when he kills the other characters, you can still recruit or kill them or ignore them just like in normal mode
-The Boss Rush.
Also, as an advice for everyone that is going blind into this game, the Curse of the Moon (feature that appears in the pause menu) resets your progress to the stage that you chose, let's say iyou are in Stage 8 and i use the Curse of the Moon to go back to the Stage 2, you'll lose your allies and power ups so beware of that, it's mostly meant for people that want to get multiple endings on just 1 playthrough.

TLDR: If you want to feel that old Castlevania vibes , just buy it. If not, also buy it, because it's an amazing 8-bit platformer on it's own. You won't be disappointed.

Finally a 64-bit version, graphics improved and so did the performance. In general it's better that Oldrim if you want to play vanilla. Since there isn't a proper SKSE version yet (Alpha version so far) the modding community for this edition hasn't gone too far yet so if you wanna heavily mod your game i would recommend Oldrim over SE. This version has a decent amount of mods and it will give you thousands of hours of gameplay but don't expect every single mod of Oldrim to work with this version.

Bought the game to write HENTAI❤ on my profile and I ended up being ambidextrous.
11/10 didn't thought steam sales could made me even harder.

Without a doubt, one of the best RPGS i've played in my life. I would never stop recomending this game. Amazing main history, fantastic music, fun combat, huge world and probably one of the best side-quests i've seen in an RPG, each of them have an unique history and most of them would influence the rest of the world too so it encourages you to do them not only for the reward but also for the possible effect it will have on the game.

The decisions you take in this games have also a great influence in it, like i said before, decisions in side-quest can also influence the main history so be think carefully how what you say will affect the person or the world surrounding you (I was suprised when during a main-quest of the Hearts of Stone expansion someone that i met in the main game side-quest remembered me and didn't made it easier this time because a decision that i took back at that time, these little details are the ones that brings an smile to my face).

The game itself it's pretty easy, even in the hardest difficulty you would probably only gonna have gripes at the start of the game with your damage output since the quen sign ( A sign that gives you a shield that absorbs the next attack recieved) will make you inmortal as long as you keep it up.

The expansions feel like a whole new game (at least i got this feeling from the blood and wine one), a whole new area, ''new'' characters ( I put the quotation marks on new because this characters exist in the witcher universe and Geralt has already met most of them at this point so if you read the books or played the other titles you may be familiar with some of them), new music (God i love Beauclair theme so much), new enemies, new features, everything that any expansion should have and more.

Finally at the top of all this we have Gwent. And what is Gwent? Well is the card-minigame on which Gwent: The Witcher Card Game was based of. You are advised. this ♥♥♥♥ is like pokemon, once you start you gotta catch them all. It is a really cool card mini-game that they introduce you after finishing the tutorial or prologue area. If it clicks with you, good, your soul shall be consumed and you will have so many hours of it that you might as well will be playing the standalone version itself. If not, don't worry, it's completely optional and it will have little to no effect in your game (take in consideration that there are some gwent related side-quest in the game like the passiflore tournament that requires you to have a good deck that later developts into something more that just went so if you want to complete everything this game has to offer i recommend you to give gwent an opportunty).

That's all i have to say aboutthe game not because it doesn't have more incredible features but because i cannot think of anything else to say to be honest. This game so many good points and very little flaws to almost no flaws in my opinion. Totally recommended to anything new to RPGS or veterans of the genre.

Dragon's Dogma has many flaws:
-Most of the characters are bland and uninteresting, at least for me.

-The story is kinda generic until the last few chapters where it actually gets really good ( No history spoilers but it has some good twists)

-The game doesn't really tell you that some quests can't be completed after you complete a certain quest and you may never get to see some sidequests due to this. (Took me 2 playthroughts without a guide to get all the quests done, missed a lot of them in the first one)

-The english voice acting is so bad that i got the japanese voice over not just for preference but for necessity.

-Some of the end-game sections are re-used a lot ( talking about Bitterblack Isle here) and it actually made me doubt if i was in the same place because they are nearly identical

But these are definitely overcomed by it's pros:

-The combat is just incredibly amazing, i can't even explaing how good the combat system is for a game of this age but i will try. It never got repetitive for me, the grabbing and climbing it's definitely one of my favorites and most used mechanics (if you played shadow of the colossus your will enjoy it a lot), facing a Cyclops? Cimb it. Chimera? Climb it. Dragon? Climb it. Living Armor? You probably shouldn't. Being able to switch between 9 classes which are played in a very different way gives it a lot of replayability too. (After maxing all the classes i can safely say that they indeed feel different)

-The world: It's really interesting to explore the world even when the stamina limiter for running it's a little obnoxious. Just wandering around the world discovering places and getting ambushed by giant monsters makes it worth for the stamina.

- The paw system: I really wish more games could make AI companions as good as these ones, sometimes i felt like my pawns where doing more than me, they learn as you use them, the best way to kill a mob or the best way to complete a quests, they will learn it. Pawns can be shared throught the online function, allowing other people to use your pawn, they also get knowledge for helping in others worlds, even knowledge that you don't know. Also, pawns can only be 6 out of 9 classes in the game, the 3 basic ones and their 3 advanced forms. ( I believe it is due to the magick archer ability that allows you to sacrifice a pawn for massive damage)

For someone that has played Skyrim and The Witcher 3, this game was a nice surprise and i'm not even quite done with it yet. I bought it during steam sales but i definetly think that it's worth it's full price. I encourage anyone that reads this to finish the Cycle of Eternal Return
