Zombies. Awesome.

I've played many hours in Alpha and EA. So far the game is a lot of fun. A lot of opportunity for polish but it is in EA. The game seems to be the target of recent negative review brigading so please bear that in mind when considering your purchase. Do a bit of research if you are worried. Make an informed decision, and don't let one person and his alt accounts make the decision for you.

Dev abandoned game in a very incomplete state. This game is textbook why you should be careful with your money on early access titles.

Looked like a good time to dive into this game when it went on discount, but I didn't know at the time it was a stab at some extra profit before they opened sales on Horizons. Now I'm faced with spending an additional $60 to access any ongoing content. Really poor profit strategy. I don't buy something on sale as an installment on the full price. Refund requested.

This is really unique game that feels very fresh and is beautifully illustrated. There's something really very mesmerizing about it. Unfortunately after playing for a little while it just became tedious. The combat mechanic just isn't fun and I found myself avoiding encounters wherever possible. Eventually I just stopped playing before I even made it very far into the story. I had high hopes but this game just didn't deliver for me.

It's pretty obvious right off the bat that the game is rough around the edges but that's to be expected in early access. It's a mixed bag. Interaction with other players is always interesting and zombies present enough challenge to make you avoid engaging them in groups. Right now there are a lot of barren areas and loot is painfully rare, both are things I'd expect to see improve as the game develops. I'd also like to see larger mobile groups of Z's. Any criticisms can really be overlooked though at this early stage in the game development.

Now, on to the very hot topic of airdrops being pay to win. I've seen numerous airdrops in game so far. Every time they have been hotly contested and have turned into a brawl at the drop site. And if you're the last man standing? Congratulations, you get a very small chance at a gun. Meanwhile you could just be finding guns in filing cabinets or on other players. Fat good a gun does you anyway when someone stabs you for it while you're checking a cupboard for twinkies.

I don't usually like the idea of paying developers to test their game but it's just 20 bucks. Worth it for the fun I'm having. Sad to think all of these pay to win cries and thumbs down reviews may cause people to overlook a fun game.

Should come with a warning. I smoked for 10 years and it was easier to quit smoking than to shut this game down at 2AM to go to bed. You will grind and grind and grind. And somehow you will continue to enjoy it for hundreds of hours. This game is more fun than most premium games I have paid for and it's free to play. 10/10 would lose many nights of sleep again (and will).

Here I am 3 years later and still playing.

This is an excellent fast paced 3rd person hack & slash, best experienced with a controller. Especially well suited to Steam stream to the HDTV. I've never played the games that came before this 'reboot' so there were no expectations. I can see myself playing through this again as I unlock difficulties to see how well I can string together some awesome COMBOS! It's fun, what more can you ask for.
