3.6 hours of fun, not great, not terrible.

A great game to spend countless hours, there is a steep learning curve as in any grand strategy. But I definitely recommend you try to get past those 200+ learning hours to really enjoy it.

Don't be fooled by the negative reviews and steep learning curve classical to Paradox's Grand Strategies.
This is a great game and you can easily spend countless hours on it. It really feels like a mix of features Frome EU IV, Vic III and CK2. But Europa's features predominate.
There is a lot to do, a lot to conquer, tribes to defeat, tribes to migrate, tribes to expand, tribes to become republics, republics to become dictatorships. It's really filled with events and content. However it's lacking in many aspects. It's centered around Rome and other countries may feel "lacking" and vanilla.
However there will likely be some DLCs to make this as great as or even greater than Europa Universalis IV.

Yes, it isn't as deep as CK2 in characters and their interactions, and it's not the same pop system of Victoria. But the game is good and has it's own unique mechanics.
The loyalty system can be difficult and civil wars are sometimes annoying but it's also a interesting mechanic and once you grasp it it's not that hard.

Overall it IS a good game, however it does feel a little vanilla and too easy for Paradox sometimes. It definitely needs more events for other nations other than Rome.

PS: when playing Paradox's Grand-Strategies always ALWAYS assume it will get a ton of DLCs and much, so much more content.

This might look, feel and play like your standard 4X game, but this is not space civilization. This is a Paradox Grand Strategy, it demands time and dedication to master and is always full of pleasant surprises as you realize there is so much to learn about it after hundreds of ours of gameplay.
So if you are a Strategy fan and has the patience to play Grand Strategy I recommend this to you, it's one of, if not the best game you will ever play.
If you only like action-filled-fast-paced "strategy" than maybe you should look somewhere else,

I am forced to downrate one of the best games I have ever played, one of the best strategy games of all history, because this is unplayable and crashes every second, unfortunately no solution has been presented yet.
with great sadness in my heart I do NOT recommend this game.

well, what can I say about this game?
Maybe you have been dreaming about building a mighty brazilian empire in the late XIX century, disputing with the USA for influence in the minor american nations, a clash between republicanism and monarchism in the Americas.
Maybe your dream is to keep Brazil an empire not a republic, to turn Uruguay into a brazilian province again, industrialize and make the brazilian military might and feared throughout the world.
Maybe you will colonize african and asian territories enriching your people and providing for your ever-growing industry and military.
Maybe it is your destiny to join the largest conflict of your time and completely turn all odds, opening a new front in your enemies territory with all the bravery and strength of your men, resulting in a whole new outcome to history itself in wich you will emerge victorious, you will be the leader of the world, Brazil will be greatest power of the world.
then, maybe, this game is for you.

Just buy it, it's awesome, one of the best R.T.S out there and mostly underrated by players who are too lazy to get actually good at it.

How could someone not recommend this beautiful masterpiece? You can get nuked by Ghandi or you can nuke the hell out of Ghandi.
you can build a civilization that will stand the test of time or you can get destroyed by barbarians at the very first turns.
there are many scenarios that are very fun indeed, but mostly you will be playing the main game mode, pick a map type, a civilization and put some AI or players and start things out at the first age, every war will be a challenge to overcome, you will be amazed by the advances of your society as new weapons and techs are discovered, allies will betray you, enemies will surprise you, you will lose a lot and I really mean A LOT. but it's most rewarding, definitely a MUST BUY and buy the complete edition for the love of God, you don't want to buy the DLCs one by one

I can't say this game is for everyone, but you should try it, specially the free version on flash websites, this game combines some defence strategy with power management and a slow-paced territory retaking, some levels take some time to complete but it's totally worth your time

Filling a Kubelwagen with a dozen men just to end up dying hitting a rock persuing a jeep
10/10 would suicide my friends again
