I've been following the works of Game in a Bottle since the very first Gemcraft game was released on Newgrounds, and I've never been disappointed. In fact, the predecessors of Frostborn Wrath were the ones to spark my love of the Tower Defense genre in the first place.
I won't lie, even as versed as I am with its predecessors and TD games in general; this game is tough! It looks like they'll be patches to help balance the game play in the near future. Until then however, it's uphill fighting for any progress. I'm having the time of my life clawing for every inch! Good job guys! You've not screwed anything up as far as I can see, and I eagerly look forward to conquering this latest chapter!

A final note: I really like the small tweaks put in to differ the game from earlier prequels. The gems will increase damage on their own as a form of "growth" without upgrades, which was much better than a specialized gem. Being able to make range restrictions on gems so you can create a kill zone also shakes things up.
I feel like the makers really put their attention into the details of how the game works to make sure it is a whole new beast from what we knew before.

Good luck players, this won't be an easy win.

I'm a fan of stragety and survival games in general. I've tried first person games like 7 Days to Die, and 3rd person versions like Don't Starve Together. This game definately plays like the latter. However unlike Don't Starve, The Flame in the Flood was by far the most engrossing and exciting game I've ever played. There isn't much dialogue in the game, but the story is your survival and the journey you must take. There is no running and gunning in this game. You feel every aspect of being on the low rung of the food chain and you must plan accordingly. The music was beautiful and perfectly set the mood and tone of the game. I can't reccomend this game enough to anyone who enjoys cautious survival games. Once you've mastered the campaign, how far can you go on the endless mode?
