Out of 450+ games, and many more not on steam, out of 1000s of hours, hundreds of stories, worlds, adventures, from the most expansive to the simplest, Outer Wilds remains my favourite game of all time. I wish I could give more than one review, buy many more than one copy. Instead, to every person who asks, and even a fair few who don't I will tell them to buy this game.

I could write a more complex review with everything I think is great about this game, from the beautiful music, to the wonderful story, to the main mechanic which just works so well, but in all honesty I don't know why I love it so much. If I just described it I'm not sure it would sound better than a whole host of other great games out there, so I wont. Please just play it.

After you've played Outer Wilds

Here is my (non exhaustive) list of games that you should probably play (or at least try) before you die.

1. Disco Elysium

That's it. If you think it's a short list, that's because it is. I still can't guarantee that all these games are for everyone, but they are all worth trying. Pick them up on sale, give them a go. These are games that usually only spread by word of mouth, since they are single player and story driven, so i feel it is especially important that people know they exist and try them out.

1. Something by Lucas Pope (Papers Please, Return of the Obra Dinn, etc)
2. Chants Of Sennaar
3. Dave the Diver
4. FAR Lone Sails (and its sequel changing tides)
