I was kinda let down by this game. It's got a good foundation, and the gameplay is near perfect. But the execution of both survival and horror elements leaves much to be desired.
There are very few scary, or horrific moments in this game, and the survival aspects are downright unnecessary. You get a lot of ammo (even on the hardest difficulty), and enemies will shift positions when you enter a room, allowing you to basically just ignore them and not use ANY of your several magazines at that point. The game also brings the "ink ribbon" system from resident evil, but gives you so many opportunities to save that its negligible to worry about it.

tldr; funny resident evil, not scary, survival horror could've been better 7/10

Spoiler free, and yes im comparing it to Until Dawn:

Here we have a good setup that is fundamentally Until Dawn, minus the snow. If you enjoyed that game, you will enjoy The Quarry probably up until the very last chapter. In terms of a conclusion, there's not much. If you liked how the characters relationships were mentioned, and the things they saw at the credits of Until Dawn, unfortunately you won't get that this time around, but will get a summary of the status of everyone, which you literally saw yourself already.

TLDR; Its still a good game, but its not nearly as satisfying as Until Dawn. Relationships don't mean as much either.

lethal company but silly

Not a terrible game by any means, but I think a lot of people are going to go into this game thinking its something else.
It's a point and click D&D-esque game with eldritch and japanese urban legend influence on its horror themes. It also has some roguelite elements (meta progression/unlocks).
It's not a narrative game, so don't going into this thinking there's a story, and its also pretty difficult. Think darkest dungeon stygian levels of unfair dice rolling.
All in all, in terms of a game, its still pretty fun.

Cute little game thats perfect for beginners. Words related to N5-N4 proficiency.

This game is perfect for those that want to build up vocabulary, but won't do much for those looking to learn grammatical structure (I recommend Genki), or actual conversation. If you're tired of duolingo or other vocab apps, this is pretty good for a fresh way to learn new words.
Otherwise, there are some very cool and good extras to this game. Your notebook will offer greetings and other small things that are good for novice conversations. Flashcards will also offer related words/phrases, which opens up so much when it comes to actually learning a language.

In the future, I think additional locations, or perhaps ways to focus a bit on conversation (talking to npcs?) would help build this game to be better than most, and it's already good!

SIGNALIS contains my favorite story in the survival horror genre. Plenty of interesting characters and a nice revolving mystery that is pretty cryptic. Gameplay is good, but enemies can be sometimes frustrating (especially with how slow your character turns when aiming). The art direction is unique and very pleasing to look at throughout, and there's several different endings for those who like a little replayability. Some of the horror and story elements are inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as other notable film creators.

A very interesting gothic horror novel that spans a multitude of stories in different time periods that all have a deeper, intimate relationship to eachother. I have not finished reading, as there are multiple choices that impact the story, but the story is VERY thematic, and is as tragic as it is beautiful. Definitely a good grab for this alone, but also great if you don't like traditional Japanese visual novels with silly dumb anime characters

I'm sorry but just about everything of this version of Alan Wake is very hard to enjoy. The cutscenes are very awkward and facial expressions are largely exaggerated, combat systems are largely abysmal with enemies spawning behind you in 90% of encounters, as well as a lack of enemy variety makes for a boring and albeit very tedious gameplay loop in terms of combat.

The narrative however is VERY good, and certainly paints and interesting tale. While not very immersive, I like the overall story and structure. Alan Wake himself however is a largely unlikable person in every way shape and form, and its hard to get invested in any single character in the story.

Please pick up the REMASTERED version on epic games for a slightly better experience.
