For reference I have played through Persona 3 Reloaded and Persona 5 Royal only.

I know Persona 5 Royal is consider the best mainline game overall but I think Persona 3 Reloaded gives it a run for its money. I personally preferred this game over Persona 5 Royal. This remake fixed many of the problems in the original like lack of voice lines and direct control. If you are looking for a persona game to dip your toes in I would recommend Persona 5 Royal but if you have experience with previous titles, this is a worthwhile experience.

If you don't go out of your way to get Doretta's head at the end of Escourt Duty you are a monster. The rest of the game is pretty good as well.

I rate it 2 angry Glyphid Crassus Detonator out of 1 bittergem chunk.

Early Access Review
I left a positive review on launch week because I was optimistic about the future of the game. While the game has performance issue and mechanical issues, I still thought that the game could bounce back in about a year. Well a year has passed and It definitely bounced... into a incineration plant.

As an owner of the first game since late 2016, This felt like a giant leap off the edge of a cliff. If you haven't learned already from the wave of negative reviews, the studio behind the game has been shutdown. I have no doubt that the development team was passionate about create the game promised over 5 YEARS AGO, but in terms of business, it was a failure.

COVID-19 isn't a valid excuse. The game was advertised as almost finished by the time of the release trailer and little of the new content in that trailer ever game it into the game (again 5 YEARS LATER).

If you are interested in KSP, please just pick up the original game. The game runs smoothly, has a plethora of mods to customize the experience, a small but active community, and official DLC content. Just like Pacific Rim 2, lets pretend this game never happened and dream about what a good squeal would have been.

The experience was cool with a steam controller. It fells like something from the portal universe even though it's a tech demo which is cool. It's not that long go give it a go.

10/10 would recommend

My old comment was a joke at how the game was good because it didn't crash. Now that I have played a few games I can conclusively state a factual opinion. The game is slightly better than worse, 6/10.

Many other players have stated their love for the early game because of the wonder and choices you make. I feel the same way. The neolithic age is so unique to strategy games that I feel like it deserves a mention. The ancient, Classical, and Medieval era have cultures that can dramatically change how you play the game between the different eras. You can go growth heady in one era and then shift over to gold based play. But that is where my liking for the game ends.

When you get part of the way through the early modern era the game just feel like a battle between you and the game and not the other players. You really have to convince yourself to continue playing because it become drawn out, stupid, and boring. When you enter a new era the game brightens up for a while but then comes crashing down.

Something Else I would like to mention is that the game does a terrible job of teaching new players how to play effectively. I spend many games being confused as to why I was falling behind the AI after the ancient era and when I figured out, I squinted so hard because the game isn't designed around. hell there are achievement for doing the exact opposite so why??? I feel like many cultures, like the Khmer, are strangely overpowered compared to the others.

TL:DR The early game is fun and engaging but past that, go at your own peril.

6/10
