I had very little faith in this game when it was announced. However, despite everything going against it (such as it being 'current year' and the game being built with Unreal Engine, which makes it feel like a fan game), Silent Hill 2 remake is a very well-done remake and is well-worth playing if you like the original.

Wanted: Dead feels like a mesh between the early 00s console games and the late 00s console games. One of the late 00s games that comes to mind is WET, but it is only vaguely like that, on the surface. Another game that I was reminded of is Dead to Rights.

This is a difficult game - which I'd describe as just classic video game difficulty. Up until the final boss, it is hard but fair. The final boss goes a touch beyond.
It might be this, that it seems to be made like a video game rather than a modern interactive movie holding your hand, that makes me like it.

It has a charm in this, and with its story ---

However, the game and its story feels somewhat gutted. Like there is a lot of content, context, and character development that was taken out. Whether this is due to development time or what, I don't know. But something feels missing, that there was something more expansive that has been left bare.
The skill tree and the weapons could have also been expanded on. There could have been more guns and more ways to upgrade or modify them. But remember the core of the combat is your blade. The pistol is important for countering attacks and the assault rifles and shotguns are there for when you can get behind cover to take on multiple enemies.

It's definitely not a perfect game and there is something that could have been much bigger here. But I would like this game to do well enough that they can expand on it and create and even better sequel with all of the elements that they have at hand.

If this game did come out in the early 00s, it would be something that wouldn't automatically come to mind but would probably be remembered fondly by a lot of people. Like the game Dead to Rights, for example.

Bottom line, I am not comfortable blanket recommending this game to anyone - especially for full release price. But at a lower price, if you are interested in a challenge and do like games such as Ninja Gaiden, Dead to Rights, Shinobi, or WET, look into it.

It's a short game. I finished it in ~3 hours. But it's really fun and not a bloated open-world game. It's a good length for what it is.

This game really rocks. It's amazing that it was made by one person. If you like the game Blood, then this is really up your alley. And I definitely like this a lot better than Dusk. I like the artwork, the enemies, the guns, and the fire when you burn the enemies, and the whole experience. Don't forget the music, it's also standout.

I bought this game back when it came out because of all of the praise it got. I didn't really know what I was getting into, and I assumed it was some atmospheric horror-adventure game. I was extremely disappointed with it after going through it. I regret buying this garbage except for the positive thing being that this helped me see the problems that were in full swing regarding the gaming industry. This is not a "game," but a pretentious art piece.
I miss the 1990s for gaming.

I have been playing for approximately three hours, and so far I think this game is excellent. There is so much detail in the world and gameplay and an abundance of choice. Exploration is fantastic.

I wouldn't compare this game to Bioshock, however, I would say that the gameplay is far more like System Shock 2 with a bit of Deus Ex thrown in for good measure. The aesthetic of the game is a blend of the original Bioshock and the two recent Deus Ex games, but it is enough of its own thing to feel unique at the same time.

One of the great unique elements of the game is collecting different scrap and taking it to the fabricator to create more ammo, new weapons, and items. Another is the skill tree, which feels a little overwhelming at first because there is so much to choose from. It doesn't feel like it's just there, giving the illusion of choice. There are a lot of different skills and branches to choose from that it will actually alter what you can do and the way you play.

It's also good that Prey is built on CryEngine V rather than Unreal 3 or 4. The Unreal Engine is extremely over-used.

I highly recommend Prey.

DOOM [4] is an extremely solid FPS that takes a lot of the best from the early days and melds it with new ideas. The gameplay isn't bogged down in story, either, making the amount of story that is there complement the atmosphere and fantastic gameplay.
The addition of the arcade mode gives a decent amount of replay value.

The negative side to DOOM [4] is the lackluster multiplayer, but the excellent single player more than makes up for this. If you are a longtime fan of Doom or a fan of first person shooters in general, this is highly recommended.

This is an excellent game. Even if you didn't enjoy the first Killing Floor, I recommend looking into this one before you dismiss it. Very fun, especially with friends online.
Especially recommended for gamers that enjoy games like Left 4 Dead and the Zombies mode on Call of Duty.

I highly recommend this game. It's incredibly immersive and addictive. The characters are relatable and it makes you care for them and the outcome.
It's one of the finest adventure games I've played in years.

Deus Ex is definitely a great hybrid between FPS and RPG. Not to miss!
