Best game in 20 years joining the ranks of Chrono Trigger & Witcher 3 as among the best rpg's ever made.

One of those games that make me feel sad on behalf of all the people not playing games. They will never know the depths of human joy can take.

I loved it. Though I liked it in launch too, but now after 1.5 and couple other patches, it's even better.
Highly recomended.

I uh... I didn't like the characters in first Life is Strange either, but atleast the game was saved by the time rewind mechanics. This time around there is no such gimmick and hence game falls short for me. Chloe and her friends seem most parts bland and unspiring. Characters in this game don't "feel like real people". Yeah I know it's work of fiction, but good fiction makes you believe these are actual people, that characters have souls. I often feel like the actors or characters in this story area like empty puppets without any personality and when a "emotional high peak moment" hits, it's often just some event that's not really significant or moving enough to have any kind of emotional impact on me, the effect I as a player crave for.

Someone screaming at a burning tree in synch with a wind? "Her emotions were so powerful that wind synched with her" Ugh, come on.

I loved L4D and L4D2, but fatiqued with those games eventually. Vermintide 2 has rekindled my love for this type of game. I don't know for how long, but I guess all games run their course eventually? Leveling and stats system fits this game perfectly. Bravo FatShark, bravo.

It was a cyberpunkish feverdream type of game with a lot of corridors and puzzle-light content with emphasis on story taking the whole thing forward. Plot was alright, not the greatest ever, but enough to take you for a ride. What this game does really well is the atmosphere and visuals. If you liked games like Penumbra: Black plague or machine for pigs you know what type of game this is.

While I liked the game and do recommend it I see it's not for everyone. I for one am not a huge fan of abstract representations of psyche or dream like sequences where shaders glitch the heck out of everything. I felt the game had a lot of these "horror" elements all over without really being a horror game as such and while emphasis was heavily on the environment I felt isolated, alone and without any interesting supporting characters. Atleast the main character was interesting, but his story could have been deeper and more meaningful. Great deal of game's "problem solving" was just about finding that object from somewhere in the room and that's it.

I loved the atmosphere the wonky cyberpunk world (weirdly outdated although) and the dark overall tone the game had.

Didn't like:

* First 5 hours is the crappy part
* Game breaking bugs like clipping out of map, dead ends and broken skyboxes
* Not very well integrated references to volatile subject matters
* Non-coherent plotwise, all over the place and not sure what it wants the plot to be
* Confusing and sometimes outright bad map design
* Shallow two dimensional characters acting randomnly
* No game play innovations. No meaningful choices.
* Felt almost like amateur product that, with help from some industry veterans, could be salvaged into a playable game.
* Just reminded me how awesome the new Doom was
* Ritva Tuomivaara. As a fin I feel ashamed.
* Song at end credits. Shame on you developers. Shame on you.
* Marketing tries to put spin on game's sales with "controversy"

Liked:

* Nazi killing violence fest is fun as a moment to moment activity.
* Awesome music (apart the end credits: what were they thinking?!)
* Hitler's scene was so over the top and tasteless that it managed to be funny.
* Nice plot twist at mid point.
* Axe kills.

Shows you just how much better a video game experience can be compared to a movie experience. I would write a longer review but I've stayed up all night just to finish this game's finale and I have work tomorrow :D. Yep it's good enough for guy in his 30's to make ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sleep. That speaks volumes.

Obviously a lot of people love the game and find it as a valuable addition into their game library.

Unfortunately I am not one of those people. I felt the game was unnecessarily prolonged long series of running between hotspots to activate dialogue that in most cases offered nothing valuable for either taking the story forward or adding anything into my life. I kept thinking if the medium was a right choice for the story and characters. Why is this a video game? I even felt like jumping button wasn't really requirement for game to work. You press analoguestick/arrows/pad to either left or right until you reach character/hotspot and then you press interaction button. Dialogue or monologue commences and sometimes next chapter starts. I was left longing for storytelling that can only be achieved in a game. Richer interaction with the environment and maybe some slight puzzles could have offered the substance and change of pace this game so desperatly needed.

Most of the dialogue I felt didn't matter. Some friends talking about pizza or their childhood, couldn't relate or care what they had to say. Only few parts of their chatter, which seemed endless, hold any interest to me. Dunno could be the age cap, maybe as a 33 years old male I've finally reached the part where I don't "get" all of the problems the people younger than me have.

Hey, you might enjoy the game a lot. I just know I didn't.

By far my favourite craft & survive experience. Focus on brutal combat the crafing is just means to an end. You should keep your eyes peeled toward the cruel world of Hyboria!
