When I first picked up Citizen Sleeper, I didn't know what to expect other than tabletop RPG systems inspired it. The system feels like a mix of Blades in the Dark with its ticking clock systems and any system relying on d6 successes, which feels fine for someone like me who plays a lot of P&P RPGs. The game opens with just enough explanation about where you are, who you are, where you came from, and what situation you are in, which drove its hooks into my brain and gripped me entirely and instantly. The game does this throughout the entire game, where it answers questions to reveal enough information and give you more questions. The story is well written and does not stray away from the setting; even what might seem on paper that doesn't fit within the story has some ties within the quests or details that you might miss in event texts. There are multiple endings that are all unique and some that pull on the heartstrings a bit as the characters are given so much life in a short time, thanks to the expert writing style.
Artistically the characters all get portraits, and they all blend well with one another and the other art styles in the game. They depict the station well, showing the cramped conditions in certain districts and illustrating how certain sections look unique to others. The soundtrack really works well with the atmosphere and helps set the mood.
Overall I think this game is worth it, even if you don't play many P&P or tabletop games.

Early Access Review
At this time (~115 hours) I still feel like this game can scare and interest its players even after a lot of experience. The devs are active and working on the game constantly. For 14 bucks you cant beat the value.

Great doom engine manipulation, great weapons, and enemies. The soundtrack is amazing and the sound design is impressive.

Romance mode is by far one of the better parts of this game. Simply clicking my general onto an enemy unit 120+ strong and having him use their bodies as a mop for the dirt is satisfying to watch.
