Bought this game as a recommendation from someone on Reddit and picked it up on sale for 2.50$ USD, and I had a blast. At first the controls were really nice but a small thing I kept having problems was hitting escape to close out a menu / card, and not being able to put things down unless it's on a corkboard. However, while the game was short I loved it ever so much, a truly hidden gem, taking out a pencil and note pad just to take notes made it feel all that much better! Taking names, and file numbers and cross-referencing I wish there was more / I hope the devs make more games like this!

At the time of this review, no DLC has been planned or announced for Resident Evil : Village. The multiplayer game included RE:Verse has been put back into development to work out issues, and has no update on if or when it will be released.

Resident Evil Village, is the perfect blend of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7. Two of the best selling games of the franchise. Elements of Resident Evil 4 were melded into the style of 7, and it worked out wonderfully. Elements such as no item boxes, a merchant, and a new treasure system are all back from the Leon-Led game of Resident Evil 4. While story elements, characters, and mechanics of 7 were carried over to Village. While a lot of the Resident Evil games stand a lot of their own, Village really benefits from having played Resident Evil 7’s main story.

The main story of Village is broken up into segments, and is based around the lore of Mother Miranda, the “Priestess” of the Village. Having 4 children, having segments of the Village’s surrounding areas, which are known as the Lord’s. Each Lord is a boss segment in the game, and each lore has a unique area that goes with their theme. While some areas such as Castle Dimitrescu (Tall Vampire Lady, that broke the internet), and Heisenberg’s factory take up the majority of the game. The other two lord’s House Beneviento, and Moreau’s Reservoir, while shorter in length, both hold up wonderfully. However some of the pet peeves I had with the game, is that you are not allowed to go back to segments. After finishing the castle, you can’t return, after both House Beneviento and the Reservoir there are missable treasures to where if you simply leave, you don’t even get the option to go back. If you didn’t know they were there, you would just never know.

For long time fans of the series or newcomers that came in with 7, this game is wonderful to play. The game should take anywhere from 10 - 14 hours, based on watching cutscenes and getting lost. While playing through it a 2nd time it’s noticeably shorter.

Following this segment, we will be talking about the segments of the game -

Village Visit One | This is the longest time you spend in the village at one time. Going through the demo’s area as well as unlocking and visiting the house. The game also has a horde section in which it is timed rather than by kills. Overall the segment felt more like the Village in Resident Evil 4, and it was lovely.

Castle Dimitrescu | The 2nd Longest Lord Segment in the game, and has the host of Lady Dimitrescu, herself. Having three mini-bosses, a wealth of areas to explore and a final battle with the Lady of the house herself. Castle Dimitrescu fits right in with classic Resident Evil and feels something straight out of the Veronica House / Spencer Mansion with a Gothic Feel.

Village Visit Two | This visit is rather short, but rewarding if you explore. Getting access to parts of the villages, where you couldn’t go before and unlocking more treasures for going off the beaten path. This part really rewards backtracking and doing a full look around!

House Beneviento | This is one of the strongest segments, going more lines with traditional horror and escape room. Locked in a room, with no guns or weapons forced to take apart a doll of your late wife, and lead to puzzle after puzzle. This one was a real trip and one of the best segments to experience for the first time! After beating the house, if you go to the graves in the village, the one mausoleum opens up in which you get a piece of a puzzle to go back to the house/grave for a treasure and mini-boss.

Moreau’s Reservoir | Classic monster in the lake, and having to run from point a to b, while dodging the lake monster. While it was good, the actual segments were short and rather lack-luster. The boss fight, while annoying, was kind of cool and one of the only boss fights outside the last one that gave me any kind of trouble. After beating the boss of the area, the water is drained and you can go to the first part of this segment where you first road the boat out. With the water drained you can go down a new path for a goat and a treasure.

Village Visit Three | The clean-up, basically with the way to go cleared it’s the final time to really go over places you might have missed, gather last minute items.

Factory | This felt like the longest segment in the game, constant back tracking, close quarters and a lore dump. New enemy types keep you on your toes, and the constant feeling of being lost is a real issue. The first time I was here, I had to take a good 5 - 10 minutes trying to figure out how to backtrack to the foundry.

Last Stand | After the fight with the last lord, you take over Chris on a hell path to destroy the mold and the Village. This segment felt like Not a Hero but forced into the main game. Which is needed, but it’s basically going to point a to b while fighting hordes of monsters.

Final Fight | The last fight with Mother Miranda, was the hardest in the game and straight up from Silent Hill. (Yes Silent Hill) The fight phases were nice, and the lore/cutscene with it were exceptional.

I got this as a part of the deluxe edition version of the game. Which I got on sale for about 2 USD above retail of the base game alone. The pack is and isn't worth what you get, and what you want it for. I personally enjoyed the lore sections more, and as someone who's a sucker for art books, I loved it.

What you get is essentially

- Wesker's Model of the Samurai Edge | Costs 200 Lei, and has decent fire power for base handguns. However, it's get outclassed by all other pistols with a couple of upgrades. The base Handgun with a singular firepower upgrade is the same as this gun. I didn't even bother buying it.

- Mr. Everywhere Charm | Nice, but it's only usable once and goes on one weapon that for the first play-through does help increase the damage of the shotgun, but again get's outclassed by other shotguns in the game.

- Resident Evil 7 Stuff | You can turn them on and off at will, but I didn't even bother using them. They are good for a little bit, but the base game music and type-writer is just as perfect. If you want a nostalgic Resident Evil 7 feel, then this is what you're looking for, however it doesn't change to much to make a difference.

- Baker Incident Report | This was one of the main highlights, as it's an 80 Page - (about 1 - 3 paragraphs per page) about the events of 7 and what happened to characters in between the three years. For a lore perspective, this is a gold mine and clears up a lot that the main game doesn't tell us about. (They go more into Hound Squad), and Chris's involvement. Suggest to read AFTER the main game of Village.

- Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artbook | Another lore loving, highlight. It's about 120 images of Resident Evil 7 that shows off early designs of the Bakers, and characters that were cut from the game. It also has about 30 early Village designs even a whole scene where Ada was going to save Ethan at the start and a costume for Ada.

All in all if you like artbooks, and lore I would suggest this in a heartbeat. But for actual game-play elements that are barely there or noticeable.

Story Wise - I'm done with the first "Jail/Big Bad" of the game. Having about a couple of hours of grinding and stuff the game is exactly what I wanted and hoped for. Taking 6/7 months after the events of Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves are back in action! The gameplay is a mix of the general warriors style combo (2-6 light attacks followed by 1 or 2 strong) mixed with persona elements. Such as certain Combos like (2 light - 2 Heavy) casting a persona's skill. However if you are looking for more Hyrule Warriors / Dynasty Warrior game this might not be for you. Strikers is more Persona than Warrior. The RPG elements shine through with the different personas, cutscenes, and story. In reality if you changed to combat to be turn based again it would be almost a lightened version of the original, which isn't bad. It's really nice and the two styles of game blends well. If you like Persona 5 and want more story and willing to learn the combos and controls, I recommend it. If you like Warrior style games and want more of a JRPG elements, I would as well.

For instance, with most warriors games it's action, pick a level action, while with Strikers it's more here a bunch of story, motives, and planning followed by encounters. The encounters are like standard JRPG run into an enemy and the fights start. The tutorial itself, took about 5 / 6 hours to get to the point of listening to all conversations talking with team-mates every day (Which can give items).

I'd recommend this game in a heartbeat for anyone wanting more persona or a warrior style RPG. I never got around to finishing Persona 5 and watched a quick 3 minute lore video on Youtube. I'm in love with this game and can't wait to play more!

--------- Premise of the Game ---------

While the graphics, might not be up to the unreal engine graphics that new Triple AAA games have, the gameplay from Throne of Lies offers more than an unique art style and gameplay that no Triple AAA games has come close. The premise of the game is that you are one of sixteen people, in a kingdom. All of which are real players, playing different classes and have differnt goals. There are three factions, the Blue Dragon which are those loyal to the kingdom, the neutral that sides with either side and are impartical, and one of the two bad guys the Cult/Unseen.

The goal of the game is for either side to win, the Blue Dragon's goal is to find out the Cult / Unseen players, as well as the Nuetral Killer and bring peace and order back to the kingdom.

The Unseen/Cult is to grow in numbers, converting Blue Dragon members onto their side, and win with underhanded tactics of lieing, and taking out other players one by one.

The Nuetral Killer is simple, kill everyone and be the last one alive. While there is some Neutral Killers that side with cult / unseen most of the time, you are left with the task of being the last one alive.

Each night you have the abilities based upon your class to either occupy another player making sure they can't do anything that night, healing someone from poision, bleeding, or dieing at night. In which you are tasked with keeping a records of the night. You use this information and that of other player's to find out the liar, and those who are unseen / cult or those who are there to reign chaos.

As it stands the King came be on either side of the Blue Dragon or the Cult / Unseen. Without knowing who is who, you are tasked with finding out you're allies and having the power to decided a players fate, when brought up on accusations of treason.

The prince, is another class that is in every game, in which during the day you can target one player to lock up for the night, and get their logs of what they do. The main goal, is to find out the liars and find out who is working against you, and the blue dragon. The prince has the ability to execute those who he has jailed.

There are many other types of Blue Dragon characters, such as the Princess, Noble, Drunk, Physician, Butler, Court Wizard, and more that all are constant changing, and adapting.

The gameplay offers much deep and awesome moments, filled with intense battles of words and typing.

------- Developers and Community -------

The community and the developers are the key to this game, through discord and forums you have the chance to really make an impact on the game. Leaving feedback, and talking directly to developers about classes and balances, is what really makes this game great. The game in which some character such as the Court Wizard and Noble have been removed, readded, and reworked into making it a fun class with abilities that shape the game without leaving a single class overpowered.

There is always people online and active, as I've never had more than a 5 minute wait to get into a game, and in which compared to other big games *cough* League of Legends, Overwatch *cough* that are much larger and still have the same queue times. The game is truly something that I wished I stumpled upon earlier than when I did. I put well over 200 Hours into the game, and still look forward to coming back day after day, with the new classes and updates (all of which have been free).

Not only which the streamers over at Twitch.TV that play this game often, shares insight as well as viewer games that allow everyone to interact, making it a great game to stream no matter how many viewers you have. I don't recommend a lot of games, but this one really should be in everyone's library of games.

A huge upgrade from the orginal, moving out of flash was the best thing to ever happen. Fixed a lot of bugs, as well as new and updated graphics. The game also comes with new bosses, characters, and items. Game gets hard, and certian tasks to get 100% is almost impossible, but feel great when you do.

Isaac is a really good dungeon crawler and is all about learning. You learn what the enemies do, what items do what, and you have to adapt. You will die, and will die often. There is nothing more successful then getting 100% on the game, through blood, sweat, and tears.
