This game lets you kill as many frames and textures as monsters as it is. It's playable, but my god, welcome to 2025 where games are released in beta states. I didn't play world until a few years after release, was it in the same state?

CODE GREEN! SPRAY THE STINKER!

I played this game for over 10 seasons. I could play for 10 hours or more at a time. But, after countless forced lobbies full of pro players and insane monitisation, I had enough.

Now, they're cutting the battle pass in half, requiring two payments and making it unpurchasable with the currency the battle pass gives you, and gaslighting everyone with "but it gives players more value".

No, it gives EA more money. I'm done with this money grabbing trash.

I mean it was fun for a while. Tech issues on AMD like fire destroying the framerate with things as small as torches (since alpha), devs said 'We're working with AMD to fix this. Then they said 'We're working with Epic to fix this'. And finally, 'oh it's not our fault, it's something in the engine and we have no control over it' Guess what, no other games with this have the same issue, and constant... constant... bugs, ruined my experience. Using a mount causes the game to constantly hitch and stutter and the control scheme is like trying to assemble a watch while diving in a pool full of honey. Overall good fun with friends, I had my money's worth, but I'm out.

Oh, and they just keep nerfing everything. First, they turned off dedicated backend server saves. Now if you want to play with friends, you can't just hop into the world when your friend is offline. If they load it without joining, nothing is updated. You can fork your own world just like on github. Also, if the game crashes, good luck. The whole world and character can be corrupted and lost.

Finally, the old streamlined weather system is now a mess of symbols that you need a cheatsheet to understand (good luck if you're colourblind) and stone no longer protects against bigger storms, increasing the time and cost of building a base now you require concrete.

Wonderful concept. Crappy implementation. Oh and, 60 weeks later, fire still murders my framerates and lightning strikes literally EMP my system and cause a 3 second freeze.

10/10 would get jumped by a pack of springy dogs who evade all stabs again.

Mini DBD. Lots of bugs. Lots of balance issues. Unfun gameplay. Being stunned for 20 minutes isn't a great idea of gameplay. Massive barrier to entry for new players.


May update if it changes in the future.

Great concept, really fun design and play. HORRIBLE lag. Poor performance despite having a mid to top end modern PC. Impossible to connect to local servers. Devs patch a lot, but they're not fixing the base issues.

Shot things, got loot. Story is pretty good, mobility is pretty good. I'd recommend it I guess since it's free.

Played so many hours, eventually burnt out on poor balance, poor bug fixes and lag. It's fun with friends, fun when you start, but as it stands now, I get literally no fun playing it anymore. Also, you can 4k on killer and depip. You can escape as survivor and depip. Pretty good job so far.

After the craziness that was the halloween event, something that should be the BIGGEST event of the year for a horror game, I am changing this to not recommended. I can't in any good morality say that people spend money on this game. For the first time, there's no way to earn the cosmetics. You could purchase them with shards, and they gave a +50% discount, but no refund to those people who spent their shards on the old prices. Amazing dev.
