dlc is alright

if you love factorio then you'll love the dlc

you can continue with a previous save if you're ok with the progression of the dlc being weird for a while
having taken a 200+ hour factory into the space age has been a great experience despite some minor artillery ammo issues due to a change in ingredients for dlc progression.

all the planets i have been to have had interesting puzzles to figure out, as almost all can launch rockets without external resources.
the space platforms are a little confusing at first but are effectively trains with preset tracks and train stops. you can use pumps and circuits to limit thrust so you can travel with maximum efficiency, and you can set import and export requests from the space platform hub and cargo landing pad respectively, which makes space logistics rather simple

Recent update for the DLC has massively improved it. Almost all trash tier items have been upgraded to be some of the best. 1 or 2 items are a little too strong but they all have good synergy and almost all are nice to see on any run.

Music is amazing as always, Chris don't miss.

I do not blame the developers for the issues at the start of this release, as it is clear they did not have enough time.

very fun game with a constantly evolving war against bots and bugs. i hate bots the most :)
turns out we never needed a third-party account which is cool, democracy prevails once again

very fun remake with great graphics. final boss is more challenging and most of the survivors feel much smoother to play compared to ror1. in update 1.0.3 they fixed the range of overloading elites and made artificer more useable, good update 10/10

honestly a very enjoyable game. yes there are some minor bugs and the non-combat AI is a little janky, but as a whole the bugs didn't affect my experience negatively, as some of the bugs were just funny.

cannot be understated that driving on pc is very difficult at first, but by the end of my playthrough i was drifting into corners at 100 and having a blast.

combat is fun and allows you to stealth it up or go in guns blazing, with hacking being very good for supporting both of these playstyles. when you unlock them, i recommend mantis blades or gorilla arms, which can pretty quickly deal with most enemies.

the main and side missions are all generally well-written and fun to do. the final mission will tell you about a point of no return, meaning you cannot do anything else in the game until you finish the mission. after completing the mission you are given an option to return to a save before starting the mission, although you do keep certain items obtained in the mission which is nice.

i'd recommend looking at some gameplay videos to get a good idea of what this game is about.
definitely worth getting on sale.

visually stunning but the game is let down by a short and awkwardly paced story.
if you enjoyed the first game then you should enjoy this one, though you should look at other reviews.
ignoring the story, this is a very fun experience.

weird tips:
- grab a prawn suit, go on the surface, hold forwards and strafe and jump repeatedly to skip over large areas easily, causing any attacker to be a simple annoyance / noise maker because you can just jump away at warp speed.
- prawn suit grappling arm makes getting out of bounds on the surface a lot easier when combined with the warp speed strafing, though you should avoid any models of rocks instead of terrain because you will get stuck forever.
- in your seatruck, get grabbed by the leviathan in the crystal caverns, activate perimeter defence and it runs away for a short time, making the entire area a cakewalk.
- the seatruck is not flexible and will get stuck in tight spaces. here's a useful tip for hardcore; disconnect your modules with the lever to the left of your seat if it's particularly dangerous and you don't have a prawn suit yet.

issues:
- the plot is awkward, ends weirdly and i dislike most of the main character's lines.
- most of my hours were spent aimlessly wandering through the surface area because there are absolutely no defining features or landmarks to help with navigation.
- spikey traps can grab you through scenery in the caves, which is difficult to predict when they're entirely concealed.

final boss is difficult but the fight is really cool so its ok

you can punch a guy's head into his chest 10/10

Pretty fun game though I think the speed that you unlock everything is a bit too fast. I've only played for around an hour and a half and I've unlocked every level, bus and almost all achievements.
