Honestly one of my favorite games standing atop hundreds. If you can get some mods, deal with it being a bit old and have some patience for the late game it's just such a gem and there is unfortunately - nothing quite like it.

I spent about an hour writing a long ass review for the game, but steam reloaded the page so i lost it lmao :D :D :D

Anyways, tldr:

For now it's not worth it imo, unless you're desperate. Most buggy game I've seen in many years, performance is not too good, gameplay can be more of a chore than fun with weak gun-play and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ driving. AI is hot ♥♥♥♥♥♥ steamy garbage. Lack of interactive stuff to do like braindancing which is important to the story but not something you get to experience past mission stuff) or mini-games. Bare-bones RPG mechanics, which feels like a punch in the gut after the marketing over the years. The paths are a disappointment because 1. It has almost no impact and 2. because it took me literally 10 minutes to get through the introduction quest and then all i got was a montage to night city instead of a proper introduction. The dialogue is so set in stone and linear in the quest and almost nothing feels impact the way you would think it does from the ♥♥♥♥ CD Projekt has shown over the years.

Overall; With a year extra in the oven and some different decisions in making it would result in a masterpiece, but at the moment it's just a good game. Story is pretty good, world building is amazing, music is amazing, dialogue is great, graphics are amazing. If you NEED cyberpunk right now, go for it, but if you want a full experience then wait a while. I'm sure cd projekt is hearing all about how scummy their marketing was and I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. Hopefully.
